Nice thinking Fox. I like the treg style coupling. You just going solid axle? _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Live axle, coupla panhard type locating rods, small coils over shocks. That might take away from the flat pack idea though.
Or a leaf trailing arms. Or old VW torsion axle.
Axle location and suspension in one. Very KISS.
You may be able to get them from the wreckers.
As Yogie said, your welding looks pretty good. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

| Yes Yogie, it will give a bit with the rubber insert, strong as hell cheep to. If you are going to use it for heavy work take the rubbers out and weld the fold, Then put the rubbers back, it gives me three way movement. |

That's a neat little unit. 8" wheels may be a bit small for off-road though. Certainly light and cheap enough. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Thanks Outback I have been to see them thats where I saw the Torsion system in this pic.--Yogie, The side base rails are 4o mil x 1200 - the cross base rails are 40 mil x 600 - the draw bar is 50 mil x 1230 and forward of the frame by 730 - the two tri bracings are 40 mil x 530 there is a centre brace as well cut to fit when you have made the outer frame. It crossed my mind to go shocks I'm still thinking. This is what I wan't no springs or shocks neat !!!!!!!

Fox iam sure you will pick the right suspention .i looked at the torsion system .but really was trial and error for me as to what weight we were going to carry. i had ended up putting the springs on top of the axle and putting an extra leaf in . only because ive put mudgaurds on .
ive seen to many people make the mistake of making trailers to stiff .
To stiff it will bouce you all over the place fully loaded. but iam sure you know that . make sure the suspention does the work and you have some give when its loaded softer if better,
your trailer looks good more creative than mine .
By the way lake Ayre might get water in it again . _________________ 2008 yamaha grizzly 700EPS /EFI

Thanks everyone, What started out as a time filler has turned to (I want it finished now) But all's good,I start back to work tomorow Wed- Australia day -today- I'm going to work and paint the Trailer and get that part done, and after I get a couple of wages under my belt ill buy the axle's hubs etc. And yes the tele is handy. My shed room varies with how much Gym Equipment my wife hires out some times I have the whole shed and other times just a corner. I hope you all have a good Australia Day +++++++++ Outback when the trailer is done and before winter I would like to do another ride,There are two more Grizzly's coming on board soon to the 4x4 side of riding..

You could always step the draw bar down if you needed the trailer to tow level. Plant trailers and old single pole timber jinkers were built like that for the same reason. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

| Neat I like the 4 wheel steering, there are a lot of 4 wheel ATV trailers on U-tube they seem to like 4 wheelers in the states, most of the expensive trailers have 4 wheels. |
