i did a bottom end rebuild, the cdi died when i started it for the first time, i got a new one(n tested it on 2 other banshees).
the bike starts first kick, but wont rev at all, the tors has been disabled, n it ran fine before the build, there is no e_brake either, something seems to be limiting it, i've got new stock carbs on it, n for shits n giggles i put the original ones back on, but no change.
Need some help

What have you done to disable the tors?

check your wiring, and where the TORS used to be coz to me it sounds like the TORS is the problem

like Clarkie said what exactly have you done to disable the tors? have you got the new caps and drilled and tapped for the idle screws? or just disconnected the wires and left the assemblies on the carbs?

if the tors removal is all mickey mouse, make sure your choke tube is on between the 2 carbs, and your slides are in correctly, the cut out has to be to the rear but also there is a left and a right slide, they'll go into each carb ok but it wont run real good if you havent got it right! there is a groove in the side of the slides and a brass pin in the carb body to hold them in place... sorry if its all a bit vague its been a while since ive played with stock carbs!

Like 4stroker said, it doesnt run real sweet with the slides in backwards laughing , also make sure you disconected the black box under the fueltank on LHS and the 3 pin plugs on both carbs, Fixed a banshee the other day that was doing what u described
Hey 4stroker I put my timing back to 2 deg and it seems to pull better, Thanks

to disable tors, park brake switch removed, throttle switch removed, tors black box removed, carb switchs disconnected.

when i kick the bike it starts, but wont rev at all, can use choke, no different sound, W.O.T. will make it pop, if held open, and will flood if i keep it open

the bike ran before rebuild, still running stock carbs, with the idle on top (tors, cause the throttle was too heavy 4 the dual gasser),
the slides r in the rite way cause i did the carb sync with watch glass,
And i try the other set of carbs i have ( with stock jetting in it), excactly the same sound, n acting the same, any other ideas???

first of all check all your grounds.

check your pick up gap between flywheel and ignition pickup. use a business card to set the gap.

get a coil from a known running banshee and try it on yours. they hardly ever fail, but its so easy to swap over so worth a try.

failing all that, get a haynes manual or similar and test your stator.

what reeds are in the bike? are they in good condition?

i got it to rev full noies once, then the cdi died, got the manual, tested stator, it came up all good, but i think the pick up is playing funny buggers, running boysen reeds, there nor split or cracked, stopper is all good as well.

the ground, i checked the one on the voltage reg, n the coil one is good 2, just waiting on the new stator n pick up, hope iz just that, did have alot of corrosion, n salt, well let u know if its that

yeah well i was thinkin that the dodgy stator fried your cdi... coz they dont usually just die like that!

hope you didnt buy a ricky stator... for about $150 you can get your stock one repaired better than new...
