hey guys, i guess this is the right section for this topic...
anyway i have lost the key for my raptor 700 i guess the upside of losing it is now the house is spotless because i have looked and cleaned every corner of the place but still cant find the bastard!
how do i go about getting a replacement? would it just be a matter of calling a dealer and telling them the vin number? any idea on cost?
cheers _________________ 2006 Yamaha Raptor 700R

oh wicked, just found the pre-delivery inspection certificate and it has the key number on it!! wooo hahaha
so i guess it would just be a matter of contacting the dealer, telling them the key number and ordering 12 keys? im feeling that it could be expensive... thanks for the help mate _________________ 2006 Yamaha Raptor 700R

| I've taken ATC locks with no keys to the locksmith on the main street at Belmont and he has cut keys to suit. Can't see quads being any different. |

I tried that one time and the locksmith said no way. Maybe he just didn't want to do it. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

i just called inskip and they said they cant help - even with the key code they recommended i call Frosts and tell them the code, but the guy i spoke to mentioned that it would be one better and maybe cheaper to take the barrel into the store and get a key made to suit?
either way it looks like a locksmith is the answer. ill give lake macquarie locksmiths a buzz but i get the feeling saying "a green human sent me" might sound a little strange? _________________ 2006 Yamaha Raptor 700R

| sounds like they're giving you the run around... I did the exact same thing with my raptor and it wasn't a problem. took the ignition to a locksmith.... two days later he had two new keys for it... think it cost me about $30 |
