Interesting hey Pete - have been thinking about the benifits of a arm linkage for some time, would have to work better, like a swing arm linkage (or is KTM right after all). What about the unsprung weight issue??

got a pic now.

no link would be better in some applications but it needs very well sorted out shocks to work properly. it would be interesting to try this kind of rising rate front end although it look like a pretty short ratio so I don't know how much benefit there would be.

So Pete how does this work, what are the + and - of the set-up.
Looks real trick, are they springless shocks?

This could sound really stupid but...

Shouldn't the bottom of the linkage be mounted to the frame not just the inside of the bottom a arm. It looks like the linkage would just move as one with the top and bottom a arms which defeats the purpose of it being there. Mounting it to the frame (like the front, bottom of a swingarm linkage) Would cause it to move in a way that would hopefully give you a better stroke ratio from outside of the a arm to the shock mounting point.
Did that make sense? Neutral

not necessarily,

the point that it is mounted is inside the pivot point of the arms so would cause the linkage arm to pull at a different ratio to the arc of the lower arm travel. my cbr 600 only has one mounting point for the linkage on the frame the rest of the entire rear suspension is mounted to the swingarm(including the top shock mount) so pretty much the same principal but upside down. the benefit here is basically the same amount of wheel travel for a shorter shock.

deano, the shock in the pic would just be a conventional one with the spring removed so they can move it through the stroke easily to be able to demo it.

Yes, Walsh Racecraft have a gusset kit already. Not heaps in it but a few decent size bits to strengthen a couple of areas.
