 |
|
Hi all,
We are a new company called Motor-Quad Industries or MQindustries, we will be opening a new workshop and showroom in Wetheril Park, Sydney in the coming months. The workshop will be setup for complete custom and performance tuning of all types of ATVs. This will include a 2WD dyno. We will also hold regular meet and greets including power run dyno days and BBQs.
Once operational we will fullfill all your wildest, crazy and wacky ideas. As designers equiped with knowledge in everything CAD, we can produce absolutely anything out of billet 6061 or even 7075 grade alluminium to suit your needs.
So to spark some interest, we will be creating a new kind of ATV we like to call motor-qua ds and detail the build right here. The first project will consist of a turbocharged 140cc race bred Honda-Zialing motor. With future projects of 250cc, 450cc and so on..
Stay tuned....
UPDATE 1: 29 January 2008
The project will now receive technical assistance from S&R Pro.
The carb will be replaced in favour of a EFI system.
Photos will be posted soon
UPDATE 2: 30 January 2008
Initial meeting with James @ S&R Pro in Penrith
Meeting was held to discuss the basic outline/goals and concept of the project. Though brief, we have now layed the foundations for the build which will commence this Friday.
Turbo: Suzuki Cappacion, w/ heavily modified rear housing to assist boost spool-up.
Plenum: Will be made from billet design by, US!
Intercooler: Will use a Garret bar&plate core as the pressure drop is quite minimal. End tanks again will be made from billet design by us.
External oil pump supplied by Rocket Industries.
Throttle Body: Unsure at this stage but something from a 600.
Computer: Expecting MicroTech to sponsor the computer.
Fuel regulator, guage, blow-off valve: TurboSmart sponsorship
Anyone else wanting to show case their new products are also welcome.
Fairings: All made from Carbon Fibre
.....End of Update 2......

| As this stage as we are currently designing the new layout we are interested to hear any suggestions as to what you expect from an ATV specialist.... |

I assume that you mean you will have CNC facilities, will you be able to accept ACAD files to input into your machines?
I'd be kinda interested in a turbo motor if it's a 125..... _________________

| We have had CNC facilities for the past 4 years. We currently specialise in and have specialised in automotive design for the past 8 years. We are now expanding into the ATV market as we can see its increadible growth over the past couple of years and we expect this to continue. |

Thank you for the support...
Alluminium has become increasingly more expensive...

Thats interesting, we never really considered that.
If this build sparks enough attention then we will definately consider releasing this engine as a complete package available with our quads and separately.

Do you really think you can build a quad here in australia and stay in business ,,I have to see this,,mabe get all the parts made offsure and assemble here otherwise you will not compete ..
But never the less it is a fun experiance.. _________________ OH "profanity removed" I SAID "profanity removed".......OH "profanity removed" I SAID "profanity removed" |

I reckon you could do it if you bought the cheapest typhoon type base quad in numbers... reassembled them well, with your own modifications and improvements.
Make the forward motors under 115cc or 131cc.
that way they will be class legal in Australia.
Turbo's are a no go for MX but if you make it to suit the above standard engine sizes... at least where it can be used it will be a turbo version of the standard class.
(I personally think you might get greater reliability and revability out of the 49.5mm stroke engines).
best luck dudes. _________________ Can-Am X Team

| Can anyone clarify that point for me please? Are turbos legal in other quad race classes, such as senior or over 250 cc? I can't find a definite answer.I am talking MX here. |
