best bang for buck not being biased as i have owned a banshee and then went to a yfz now have lt-r and would have to say the suzuki already wider and lower so saves ya money on a arms , axle for a start straight up ( plus mx tyres is ya gunna race) other advantages are their shocks can be rebuilt to perform pretty damn good where as the yfz only the rear can be rebuilt to better then stock
i have found the lt-r is a much better feeling quad to ride , very comfy after owning a yfz
the yfz prob has a bit more aggressive power but the lt-r's is a more consistent power curve through gears
thats just IMO
compare to the banshee well i had pc pipes and mufflers , porting , boost bottle , crank kit , head modded , v force reeds , reed spacers , plus more . and the 4 strokes ate it out of corners the shee just wanted to break traction on a wettish tacky track i could give them a fairly good run but they out performed the banshee in handling
remember the banshee hasnt changed for over 15 years in design where as the 4 strokes are newer designed so can and are alot more rider friendly
best advice really is to try and take both for a ride and see which ya like best to suit ya needs _________________ black covered in 5.7 powered oversize quad

I guess it depends what sort of riding you wanna do they ALL have good and bad points im yet to see an outta the box bike that wants for nothing!!! i have a yfz thats got everything done and i love it, if i was gonna ride up the scrub id swap it for a raptor, so you just need to decide where you want to ride and then try and ride as many bikes that are suited to that type of riding and then make your own mind up wich suits YOU best, the bike i like isnt necessarily right for you!! if it was we would ALL have a YFZ!!!!!!!! _________________ shiny things attract me, mud scares me, tricked up yfz gets me hard |

would have to go the suzuki if I had a choice, seems to be a better bike than the Yam, even though i ride a Yamaha 700 I would still go the suzuki 450..
Just my opinion, horses for coarses _________________ Andrew |

I agree with oz450, after the YFZ the LTR is a much kinder bike on ya body - but then i am getting old - maybe i should get a lounge chair on wheels(700 raptor) - oops there's a can o worms! _________________ 08 Raptor 250 (missus)

And let me be the first to open that can well old timer if you are getting to old maybe you should look into a raptor to bring that iner kid back out of you. yes its a lounge chair but it would probly be better than the rocking chair your on now or i dont know wht dont you go on the dark side and get a kwaka 700?? now they look gay hahaha _________________ Sponsors ,Cullys Yamaha,Pirtek Malaga

hello Fredom. sorry about going a bit off your subject mate. i think you got to get what you feel most comfortable on no matter what brand it is . you will be the one riding it.for example the 700 raptor i got i felt the most comfortable on (due to im 95kg) and i sat on heaps of bikes before i made he choice(i think i peed off heaps of bike shops going backwards and forwards all the time but thats what they get payed for ). _________________ Sponsors ,Cullys Yamaha,Pirtek Malaga

what goodnbad won't tell you is Hondas don't handle real well when you land them sideways (cough ROMA), but seriously like the other fellas have said ride as many of different bikes you can and you will generally find one that seems to fit better than the others...If you do decide to lower yourself and buy a Honda, goodnbad (ATVNRG) is certainly one person to talk to about your Trx hot up needs.....

I've got both and would have to agree with most of the comments.
Both are great machines. From my exposure to them the YFZ seems bit snappier than the LT-R and feels lighter/smaller, and I still think the YFZ is the best looking machine o/all.
The LTR handles great, has smooth power delivery, and a comfy seat. If you are just starting out in the sport and want to be competitive in the Clubman to Expert classes without forking out big $$ for Axles, A-arms, and Shocks then the LT-R is by far the best value for money. In the Pro ranks both machines will cost the similar money so cost isn't an issue there.
Both stock suspension systems are good with a little work so theres not much to that. Banshees are great machines but these new 450s are a world apart from a Shee, you won't regret trading up. As far a Yellow or Blue goes I believe that you would be happy with either purchase. _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly!
