At the worst, Suzuki would have to change the cam timing and the ECU mapping the smallest fraction to comply if they wanted.
A task that would be 10 times easier than redesigning gearbox operation.
So if they have stopped making the LTR450, the EPA would be the excuse, not the real reason.
Suzuki have done it real hard for the last few years and maybe sold a good product too cheap to keep units flowing, and maybe that marketing approach is just not sustainable.
Sport quads are such a small game to be in, so lets hope it's not a sign of things to come for other manufacturers.

Back in 2007, i was thinking that Suzuki might be the first manufacturer to bring out a a proper race LTR250.

Tough times, Poor Buggas.

From the factory the US RMX450 ECU doesnt allow more than 1/2 throttle to be used to meet EPA Regulations, it can be altered at the dealers.

I'll have to go through some trophies to check on that one but I think that was the year you were unbolting parts off your quad to make it lighter because we were getting spanked by a Daddy's boy. Don't you just hate those guys?

Honda didn't release the 250R Fourtrax over this side at all[img][/img]

That's nothing... Back when i was a boy, we had to walk 15 miles to school every day in 50 degree heat with bare feet. It was up hill all the way and the road was made of broken glass. When we got there the teacher flogged us for 10 hours straight and then we had to walk all the way home. And it was up hill all they way back too.. ... .... laughing

Suzuki did exceptionally well last year at ThumbPump, so it will be good to see what happens for 2011.

the "dig" wasn't necessarily directed at you either Mick, I've seen and heard the comment numerous times, in fact almost daily. Maybe we'll have an answer by TP.
