 |
|
Hi all,
Does anyone have a repair / maintenence manual for the above bike ? I changed to gearbox oil on mine a couple of weeks ago and at stockton on the long weekend it kept dropping out of gear or finding false neutrals between 2nd and 3rd. Very frustrating and it definatly wasn't doing it before I changed the oil. I guess I've put the wrong weight oil or whatever in it. Hoping someone can tell me exactly what Suzuki specifies.
Thanks in advance. Jeremy _________________ 2010 Polaris 500 H.O 4x4 - Stock for now |

I put in 900mls (as stated on side of engine case) of Silkolene Gear Oil Light. It says for competition and road motorcycles.
I asked at the moto shop when I bought it and they said yeah it suits it.
On the back of the bottle it says - " An advanced specification gear oil for use in 2-stroke motorcycles and other seperate gear box machines. Reduces drag, combats clutch slip and protects highly stressed componants. Suitable for wet or dry clutch transmissions. Gear oil rating 75-80w, Crank case rating 10-40w"

I know it sounds odd but sometimes different brands of oil will "feel" different in your gearbox, try a different brand like Maxima or Motul gearbox oil and see if that helps. _________________

hi
youre problem is more than likely a shift fork problem or a problem with a worn 2nd gear.I had similar problems with my lt and had to rebuild it.its not a huge job to split these engines.
