Well we made it, the first RZR's to the Northern tip of Australia!! (yeah, I know, big deal!!! ) Mossman to Cape York and back, about 2600km. We had many tests along the way and the RZR was not exactly reliable but the trip was fantastic!!! The highlight for me was definitely doing the Creb Track on the last day in the mud, wow, there were some seriously gnarly hill climbs to navigate.
The RZR suffered several frustrating mechanical gremlins but I won’t go into them on here as Polaris is working with me to sort that out and I don’t want to upset anyone however I would definitely suggest anyone with the first series RZR S (2009) PM me for some must do fixes. The other 2 X 2010 RZR S on the trip seemed fine, however 1 suffered a bit of front end damage in an argument with a washout.
I really think that a lot of the fellow riders didn’t think the RZR's would make the journey, now I think 1/2 of them want to buy one
I would highly recommend this trip to anyone however it would definitely pay you to talk to me first about what to expect and what to take with you as conditions were "basic" to say the least and this did bother some riders.
There were a couple of major stacks, one rider was lucky and the other wasn’t, he got a trip with the RFDS as part of his experience, I have been told he is recovering well.
There were several people on the trip that really helped me out big time with sorting out my mechanical issues; you know who you are but a huge thanks again for your help.
Early start on the first day in Mossman
At Daintree Village on the first day.
Waiting for the Daintree River Ferry
Lots and lots of mud after a night of rain, the suspension sagged under the weight of all the mud.
Washing the mud off in a creek
Crossing the Pascoe River, all the quads and bikes (except 1) were carried over but the RZR's all drove it. Depth was over a 1m and flowing FAST!
Gunshot Creek entry, that mud smelt funky
Another wash in Cockatoo Creek
Just about there!
Broken down on the Creb Track with only 5km to go
Blown CVT belt, lucky I had a spare!!! _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

Hey Greg - looks like a good trip mate. Sham about the few little hiccups along the way but sounds like you are well on top of it ..... it does seem that Polaris offer bloody good back up support.
Those pictures are awesome - ohh so does the RZRS. Like what you have done with it. Have you gone with aftermarket A arms - it looks to be a little wider in its stance??????????
Not that you probably feel like it now but ......... i am taking my rhino and polaris (bought the missus a ranger hahaha) down to some 4wd park near Beaudesert in the middle of August for a winch competition my mates have entered. Feel free to come along.
Cheers
Chris |

Thanks for your comments. I have hundreds of photos but the ones I put up seemed most relevant. The other 2 rzr owners on the trip had professional video and photographic equipment and plan to put a production together, I am looking forward to seeing that.
Chris, I am heavily involved with the EKKA so August is out for me sorry. _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

Fantastic Stuff Greg, looks like a most do on the calendar and if the conditions are as basic as you are describing tat least the RZR's and SXS's have the room to take their own swag-campbed. _________________ www.asho.com.au for your shooting and outdoor needs

They made regular fuels stops at servo's and they also had a fuel truck which carried your Jerry Cans. _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo
