Hay guys

I looking at getting an atv/quad bike. i was heavy into motorycle racing and stunt riding used to ride like a demon Evil or Very Mad untill a motorcycle accident on the way to work changed my life on 11/11/09. i became a T10 paraplegic and will never walk again. but as you can image after ride bikes and being so heavy into it i still have the buzz he he he.
i would like to get some info
what brand?
what type 2wd or 4wd?
where to ride?
can you get any type or registratration?
when taking this into consideration remember if im in trouble i cant walk to get myself out of trouble so reverse would be handy. The i deal bike would be a 4wd with gears and clutch so i can still ride the way i used to.

if this doesnt workout ive only got jet skiing left.

Hi Wheels. And welcome to the forum.

If you are Brissie or Sunshine Coast based, drop us a pm and we'll hook you up for a day on some trail riding.
Another newby on the forum recently with similar challenges to your self posted some good video of him hanging out on a converted Raptor.
Inspirational stuff.

Working backwards through your original questions........

Both quads and jet-sking will work out for you.
More places to ride a jet-ski though.

You don't ride alone. With or without functional limbs.

Reverse is a requirement. MXers live with out it.

We can get conditional rego. And the rego makes many problems dissappear.

Where we can ride is a "gray area". But there is a few good ride parks and some legislation is going to happen to open up some more areas to registered ATV's.

I'm a bit biased towards 4wd bikes, and CVT's are the go. ( minimal mods in your case. ) Most 'farm type 4b's" have decent carry racks too.

What brand?
They're all good until something breaks. And they all break.
I would say that the Japanese bikes have a good reputation for reliabilty, overall.
I would also say that parts and service are way over-priced.
It is very much a personal choice. What works for one rider is a dud for another.

I hope this is of help.

i think you can rego a quad for road use if you have a disability as my house mate was looking into it. depending on where you live i would ask the transport department eg RTA in nsw
