Guys,
I'am relatively new to ATV, I've done a bit of riding on ones my mate own but thats about it.
What I'am looking at getting is basically something to get me around the scrub chasing pigs out on the flat areas of western NSW.
It doesn't need to be super fast, just reliable, handle a 95kg bloke and a couple of rifles.
I would also like to do a bit of work on the beach, nothing serious, plodder up and down with some rods to go fishing.
I was looking at a 250 for size.
We used my mates Kawasaki Bayou 220 and it seemed to go fine for what we were doing.
From what I've been looking at there doesn't really seem to be too much difference in 250cc quad bikes from Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda or Kawasaki except for price, colours and design, they seem pretty similar.
This of course leads to my confusion.
I'm not sure which way to go. |

Thats looks pretty good.
Realistically, is there much difference between them though? |

I have no idea, my first quad was a Kodiak and i loved it, so yamaha's make first class quads, so you cant go wrong can you. _________________ 2005 KFX700

Had one of those bear trackers myself , damn good reliable quad , but if you want a bit of speed a larger capacity quad might be better suited .
You cant go wrong really with any of the Jap machines _________________ 2012 Can am Outlander Xt 1000cc

I had a Yamaha Timberwolf ( the predecessor of the Beartracker) for years and it was bullet proof. We used to ride everywhere on it from the desert to the dunes and the only money I had to spend on it was for tyres. The 250 range of japanses utility quads are all pretty much the same as far as I know quality and performance wise. Google 250 utility atv shootout and see what you can find. I'm sure one of the U.S mags did a model comparison a couple of years back. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |
