Hi Guys

I'm new to the ATV scene and have just bought a 06 750 Brute Force that I'm slowly modifying at present. I am after some advice on what sort of rubber I should be look at putting on the bike. I plan to use the stock rims at present and the majority of my riding will be along beaches, swampy mud, and bush trails in the Ingham area of North Queensland. I've had a quick look at the Mud Lites and they seem to fit the bill but I'm sure there is a large range out there to select from. So can anyone give some advice to a newbie on what I should be looking at, where to buy from and what sort of pressures to run?

Get on to Andy from Austraco because he can sell you the Mud Lites or probably half a dozen other tyres that will do the job.
He’s good to talk to and knows the difference between all of them.
There are even a few different types of Mud Lites that I don’t know the difference between, but Andy will.
At the end of the day, it will come down to choice, but he will help you narrow the selection down a lot

I know there ae two grades of mudlites, could be three? Andrew has some new type of tyre that seems to be the ducks gts, I run mud lites and love them, my 2 bobs worth

I was in town today and saw that the local dealer stocks Swamp Fox tyres in a mudder pattern, anyone had any experience with this type of tyre?

I had the mudlites on my grizzly and found they were greatly suited to sand , much better than the stock one , and also better than the Baja that i have on now.

I also found that they hooked up better than the baja in wetter or muddier conditions , but i went the Baja this time because on the 8 ply rating and also it is better suited to hard pack dirt, and with a squarer outside edge

The mudlite are a great tyre and not to aggressive if you get on a hard surface.

I have also had the similar tyre to the swamp fox and found them to aggressive, but all in all it comes down to what you are doing and you personal preference .

The worst part about it is that it cost's a lot of money in trial and error.
But i would reccommend the mudlite , as you will not be dissapointed from the sounds of the riding that you do.

You will aslo find that with an aftermarket wheel , like the itp that Austraco sells will make a huge differencein the handling due to it be a different offset , which you will gain about 65 mm in wheelbase.

I just bought a set of 'ARTRAX' Tyres for my Grizzly, Not sure of your tyre size but, for the money there excellent. Let me know if you want me to post a pick or 2, or p.m me.

Same. I have the ARTRAX Countrax on the 680 and reckon they are brilliant. Good tread depth should see them last a fair while.

Mate I wouldn't bother with mud lites ... In my Ipinion they dont last ... very soft and get punctures very easy. Yes they are light... Thats because they are thin rubbish.... If U want something with guts try the big horns... and of course if U want the very best quad tyre that i run year round on my brute force 750 are mudzillas .... Even the Can am boys run mudzillas

How many times have I been out and my mates, say should have left the Mudzillas on as there quad slowly sinks to the bottom.....

Yep looking at trying to get set Bighorn 2's. 26x9x12 and 26x11x12. Does anyone know who would stock these in oz.

if you want give me a call we have lots of different tyres available. I’ll tell you how they work. we have a new 8 ply Fury crawler which is cheap and a good al rounder might be worth looking at.
