 |
|
Ok folks .. without opening a can of worms,... wondering if people could give me a recomendation of after market exhaust for raptor 700.
looking for full system.. preferably twin cans.
to be fitted to a stock motor... possibly moded down the track.
maybe a chip install is required... if so this is ok.
not knowing any better.. I liked the look of the DMC dual.
Let me know what you all think ???????
Would be good to hear about first hand performance gains, aswell as a good thump sound... hahaha...
Thanks for your input. _________________ Consistency..... The last refuge for the unimagenative. |

Barker's are the best performing duals for the Raptor according to the dyno. If you intend going into the motor at some stage in the future, couple the exhaust with a Power Commander V fuel controller as there are a mass of different AF maps available for download for them and they are far more adjustable that the Dobeck style controller. I have Monster duals on mine and to be quite honest I found little noticeable difference between the HMF single system I replaced. In fact I did not have to adjust my fuel controller at all to compensate for the duals. While I whacked on the Monsters mainly for looks and sound, if you aren't set on modding your engine, I'd recommend a HMF sports full system. They have a great throaty rumble, are reasonably priced, come in a great range of finishes, and you can get quiet cores for them to tone them down if you are looking at entering any future race events with dB restrictions. Most parts dealers will quote you a 15% HP gain for either the duals or a good single pipe.

Thanks for your input Fossy..
I am surprised at the lack of response.... how many raptors do we sell a year in this country ... and how many people on this site own one... dont be shy boys.... let me know what you think... just looking for after market exhaust experiences good and bad.
Thanks again Fossil my only reply so far !! _________________ Consistency..... The last refuge for the unimagenative. |

No probs. The forum is pretty quiet at the moment with a lot of people either away or racing. Check out the U.S raptor forum www.raptorforum.com. You will find a massive amount of information there. The yanks can get a little carried away but have a look there. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

I've had , Barker Duals , HMF Single , DMC Duals - had the dyno on them all and the y are almost identical in power. Barkers give you 5HP more at 7200 RPM , other than that the sound is the only difference.
If i was weight and price conscious I would go the HMF single.
Remember you MUST run a PC3 or PC5 (with oxy sensor) otherwise you will run the bike lean and could do some serious damage. You will also need to invest in a Air intake kit such as a Proflow etc. Get them all together and shipping will only cost you base don the exhaust system as the others can be slipped into the same box.
Steve at techquadshop.com can help with any of these systems out of the USA. Quiet core and exhaust heat sheild is important too hence where the barkers and DMC have it over the HMF , although i have heard you can get a generic heat sheild now for most of the single systems.
You will not regret it no matter which system you go with . !!!!!!! _________________ It's time too ride !!!!!!! |
