The look the goods to be good enough and theres the engine upgrades we were looking for!! 1000cc is the limit as suspected as a self regulation. This year!

2 engine types and 3 configurations in each for 6 models, a sportier wheelbase, a 50" whellbase it looks at this stage and a UTV tipper I believe.

The devil is in the detail but "Charlie's Angels" - 3 of them - have arrived.

And here is some more.....

http://www.utvguide.net/can_am_commander_1000.htm

Reckon you'd be looking at close to $30 000 here, and that would be a poverty pack.

Wouldnt want to be anything like $30k when people could ship them in for $20.

Also at $30 I could build a full race spec lighter 990cc big bore with stage 2 turbo kit RZR at 125hp with complete custom pack of body work, shocks, wide wheels wider than their big base unit and better tyres and wheels and, and , and.....

I guess we'll see but $30 will immediately kill their market when Polaris only have to put a 1000cc in their $20k buggy to have an equivalent or better package since the RZR'S comes standard with Fox2 shocks and its an option.

I've been a wee bit busy Gavin, but both the local Polaris and CanAm dealers are further proof that Ned Kelly had some off-spring. Rolls eyes

RZRS quoted at $27 000.

Commander "about 30K for a fully equipped one litre track-eater".

IF we were wanting to purchase one or the other, it WOULD NOT be from either of these clowns.

And for about $17 000, I could have a 800cc V-twin Raptor Rex. And it would do everything the other two can do, without the hype!, and yes, 10K not spent is 10K better spent elsewhere.......

Nice goodies but shame about the price. laughing

Yeah, you sometimes wonder about the rogues out there.......

Guns, packs, electronics, machinery, recreational equipment....seems a lot of things USA based is almost double the US dollar value here. Not right.

And country of origin is getting a bit vague.......

When the Road bike, the Vmax replacement was released a couple of years ago and it was set at double the price here to the US. When quizzed about the price Yamaha Aust were willing to go on record as saying "the market will pay that amount for the limited numbers of the bike we have available".

Seems most manufacturer importers are in the same boat that they have limited numbers to sell and therefore think they can capture a market at a given price and to hell with everyone else.

Theres a BIG gap for other players in the market including other manufacturers with similar product at similar quality and as you pointed out Dino there is players out there.

Seems the prices I saw on the Commander were <$13k USD and ,$15k CAN on UTVGuide.com and Can Ams home site. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Should take them to court for Ursury but its not an essential commodity like water.

I am pleased this unit is out now, it allows us to progress more with specs and regs for the SXS class as there was a lot of talk about this machine. It looks a good unit, probably more "Rhino-ish" than I imagined, but being about 130kg heavier than a RZRs, I think it will be on a par in competition with the RZR even though it has a bigger motor. It also allows us to stick with our proposed max track width that we have discussed earlier.

Too right Phil, I continue to push for association so that these things can be detrmined and guided centrally! Wink

Dunno whats a std RZR worth? How much negotiating room have you got with the 170 as part of the deal?

Hard to go past the commander at $17000 when thats as much as their XT800cc quads. Same motor as Quad innit??

If the commander 1000X racer lands for less than the RZR'S there may be a flock out the door. LET THE PRICE WAR BEGIN!! Evil or Very Mad

I can't see that being right considering some of their mid to high end quads are already in that price range.

I'm thinking 20,000 minimum but I'd love Can-Am to prove me wrong.
