 |
|
Hey all,
Currently i ride a 350 Warrior and i want a yzf 450 or faster. And im not sure wether to go the 450 or will a 660 be faster.
I ride sand and trails and flat out, i dont face and i dont jump.
The warrior was insanley fast when i first rode it, but i have become used to the power and now i want more!
My question is, will i notice much speed between a 350 vs 450? or do i need the 700?
Thanks in advance |

If you dont do any jumping and you just ride trails and want to go fast i'd go for the 700. But at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference. Good luck with whatever you go with. _________________ 07 KFX700

Most of the 450's are made for the mx track although capable on the trails, for you r type of riding I would definitely go the 700 raptor it is awesome at haulin up dunes and an absolute blast on the trails.
you will definitely notice the diff with a 450 over your old warrior, but with a 15T front sprocket on a raptor 700 the top end is awesome.
good luck deciding |

Yes, the difference will be night & day.
It's all about preference. I do trails and dunes and love my YFZ450. My next quad would be a Outlaw IRS.

banshee
but if you keen on the 4 strokes, go the 700. more modern then the 660 and better suited to trails then the 450 _________________ 01 Banshee

Is there a huge power difference between the 450 and 700? why are you guys suggesting the 700 over the 450? is it because of the Geo or the power?
Would i be better getting a 660 for the money? being older there cheaper.
Thanks pples. |

You might notice that the bigger they are the less nimble they will become so you have to find the balance that suits your preference.
Fast acceleration or nimble cornering... |

the 450's are a race motor, made to go hard, the 700 will offer more torque over a broader rpm range. they arent as highly strung as the 450.
personally i would get the 700 over the 660, just because its cheaper doesnt mean they its a good deal. |

thnks for all the help guys. Im thinking the 450 as for a good 700 there big buks which i dont wana spend. Is the 450 the Nimble option? Will the 450 be the faster of the to off the mark? acceleration?
is there much of a speed difference between the 450 or 700? or is the 700 more power, but not a quick of the line?
I was quick of the line, i want a race geo and torque to get the back around whenever i please
Keep the advise comming. |

FI vs not? any mayjor difference?
I have read reviews about the flipping issues with the 660 being to short etc. Can this problem be fixed with spacers and lowering the quad?
The 660 is a good quad for it's price $4500 ish whist a 700 will set me back heaps more. Is there a good enough reason to spend the extra for some1 who rides on weekends for fun?
help appreciated.
P.s anyone want to buy a 03 warrior in good nik. email me wazza2282@hotmail.com
I need to sell to fund new quad. |

hey all.
im still trying to decided. I dont know anyone that actually owns any of my choices which makes things harder.
I have found a really good condition 660 (its mint '04) i dont want to spend 8k+ on a 700 so i have ruled that option out. I also have ruled out the 450 due to my riding style and needing reverse. However i have now come across the suzuki 450 and 400's, how do these compare the the 660? money wise the zuk 450 is pricey and and 400 and 660 are similar priced.
Would a 660 with a pipe be a better ride then the 400? i need people who have ridden both.
Cheers |

gidday wazza
i was on a trx 400 when i got used to it i did some mods , then got used to that and decided 700 purely because i dont race. the 450 which is used mostly mx and needs more attention to be competitive , but i didnt want to have to maintain race spec motor and do regular rebuilds .
bought honda trx 700xx and just added mods to it lol
i guess blokes just need speed lol
cheers

I wanted something with reverse when I was looking too with mainly riding trails and enduro but I got a YFZ450. Now it doesn't even really worry me on the trails only when parking it in the shed or around the yard. All I do when out is make sure I don't park anywhere stupid and any obstacles i might have to reverse out of just hit them flat out so you don't get stuck. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

Hey mate, if you cant justify spending the extra coin on the 700r the 660 will still fulfill your needs, plenty of power and fun to ride, I understand the need to budget but remember things are sold cheap for a reason whether its purely age or hidden problem, The cheapest option can sometimes be the dearest. Goodluck though mate. (where you located). _________________ 86 atc 250r.

thanks mate. im located in Newy.
The 660 looks well maintained (in the images) i havnt had the time to check it out. Is there common issues with the 660 i should be aware about?
also 6K for a 700R 07' would this be a worth spending the extra 2K over the 660. Or should i go the 660 and hold on the extra 2k for repairs and mods. The 700R is imported, i dont know much about the 700R but i would imagine it being more expensive to repair? would i have more fun with a 660 and 2k in my poket incase. If i spend 6K on the 700R it doesnt leave me much room to to anything to it. then again would i need to do anything to it?
the 700R is actually a 686 so being only 26cc more powerfull the the 660, is this really worth 2K? or am i spending 2K more for the FI and 3year newer bike?
Sorry for the million questions. but i really have no idea. |

Well think, it would probably going to cost you another 2k to make the 660 handle as good as the 700 but its still 3 years older and less powerful. That should answer a bit of it. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

I would go the 700 without a doubt , the fuel injection is awesome and also better economy , the fi models are also better with varying altitudes due to compensation on fuel mixtures , The difference in a 660 to a 700 is very noticable as i found out on my old grizzly to the new one _________________ 2012 Can am Outlander Xt 1000cc

Definately spend the extra and get the 700 . You can get good stock ones for $6k upward . I have had 350 warriors and 660 Raptors and 700 raptors , I would never buy a 660 again , old technology and hard to sell second hand. You will get a much better bike in the 700.
Dont even consider a 660 . 450's okay for racing , but need regular motorwork otherwise they can grenade on you .
