One more and i'm done.Dingo, i'm not picking on the qqra.i was interested if they have approached the goverment to see if i could do what they were doing,to help as well. The pollies want to see numbers and if every member of the QQRA or this forum emailed the pollies they might relise how many quad riders in Queensland would like to be catered for.Or exactly what you have done, get your own area is what i would also like to achieve. As you have done, got a few people together and do it not talk about.Nekelec, you need to chill a little bit.I see they have deleted one of your posts.I actually don't give up easy. I have been pursuing our local council (i couldn't see much point pursuing any other council) and goverment for over 20 years. It was the generous SEQ gov that allocated land in SEQ,not me.WHY did they do it? Probly because some of us in the SEQ actually went to the trouble to ask them and fill out stupid questonaires. So when they ,the gov,ask what do you want for riding,i nailed them as hard as i could and i figured if this works, then maybe a motorcycle wasteland like Rocky,i think, could approach their local pollies and use it for a precedent.silly me.Dino has done an awful lot of homework as well and thanks to him.Someone had to do it.And again without being silly, maybe there is a need for clubs that take in slighty smaller areas than all of Queensland.Cairns is further from Brisbane than Melbourne is.Nekelec,I am sure we are all trying to acheive the same thing, peace love and happiness for quad riders.l gazman
and i think Luke B was right, best to be out riding ,not playing with stupid computer. |

NeKeleC
for 1 i have done nothing but support the qqra ... there has never been any bashing of the club in fact i want to join and i wanna be the president just so i can make sure your freaking banned from it for life
as i see it now you have done nothing but cause trouble between its members and given my cause nitro to fuel a differeant group of riders...
congradulations you have probebly lost a good cause like qqra a "profanity removed" load of good members with your big mouth im glad that suits you
i suspect that this is why nothing gets done because people with big mouths like yours just stir the pot between its members with out realy caring about the outcome.
were just family guys that go riding on the weekend .. your differant you have some sort of vendetta against any one that doesent aggree with you or where you ride good on ya ...
how would you like it if some one was to start a vendetta on all the places you ride cause thats what your doing to us ?
use those 2 brain cells to think instead of just to flap your jaws ...
FYI the seqqra was a joke but now im realy going to have to think hard about that as you have left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth ... infact it taste like "profanity removed" ... im sure every one i come in contact with from now on is going to have a very very differant view of our little group of riders....
good on ya hope the wheels fall off ya bike..... |

i have a lot of respect for the qqra and its members, dan your president got me on the bike i am on now, and in doing so has helped me on a lot of occasions, infact i have no problems with any of its members ,and would love to join up ,as well would like to go on one of your rides.
but it only takes one idiot to wreck it for everyone,
keep going buddy and the little joke dazz, had which involved photo shop, might become a reality.
ill ask dan to move aside and let dazz be president , for a day a we will join up after that. |

Gazman, you have helped me prove my point, people want to know what the QQRA have done for them, what have the people done to support the QQRA?. We obviously have some very passionate people amongst us and they could do so much if joined under one banner and fighting together. So right now the QQRA might not cater for your direct needs but this is not an overnight process and the larger the body gets the more influence it can have in all areas. Personally the QQRA does very little for my area however they provide weekends away that are a lot closer than all the way to Brisbane and offer the use of their affiliations to help with any events we hold up this way and certainly promote the C.Q. racing scene. Some of these passionate people could gain so much by stepping up to the plate and gaining the support of club members to help make that voice nice and loud.
I have no idea of the land you are talking about but I can guess that it is also used for the 2 wheel community, you would probably find that this body would have had the majority of influence in obtaining an area like this. When it comes to forming small clubs these are great for getting direct results in your own areas however they hold very little influence in the grand scheme of things. Anybody would have to say 1 club fighting for a common cause would have to do better than even 5 little clubs all pulling in different direction for their own benefit.
I still struggle to see exactly where QQRA is not catering for all forms of quads. Current club members are putting in lots of hard work around regular family social weekends (May Day the most recent 45+ quads), an enduro weekend which looks to be attracting some well known riders and junior development involving coaching clinics as well as trying to increase the amount of track time oppurtunities for juniors. I myself as a club member would be only to happy to lend my support to any club members in their pursuit to increase the amount of quad riding oppurtunities. _________________ 10 LTR 555 Dingo

i dont think the issue is what events are getting held ... gazz wants to know what was in the formal letter that was written to the minister ect... in regards to the the new ride park which does affect all of us if thats somthing that the QQRA as a club did address after all ?
it would seem that the main concern with the planning dpt and the ministers dpt is to get familys who ride on weekends a venue so they can have somewhere to can ride safely and leagaly and to fill the gap of the closing MX venues accross the lower part of se qld ..
there is talk of another northern site also on sunshine coast and the feeling is that this park will be a blueprint for the rest of parks to come or be the end of them....
so of course its very important to get our needs right for family groups of riders
now lets ask that dredded question what are the QQRA going to do for us in regards to actioning our cause and need for this park if i was to join QQRA i would want to know after all thats part of the purpose of having a club or affiliation isnt it?
familys wont be taking a back seat an let the secret socity or some other goose drive the bus there on without knowing what there plans are.
This we dont have to say anything attitude here or anywhere makes one wonder what the hell you have to hide ... not that im saying that you do but how can you expect people to blindly follow your lead if you dont actualy have a plan? |

Dazz....I see from the posts here and the GCATVA thread it's obvious what you wanted. You didn't want to know what was being done in Qld....you wanted to know what was being done in your little corner of the universe. That was the point I was trying to make......I congratulate you for what you are trying to do for your area and I can appreciate the difficulties you are having. I know how much you can beat your head on the wall dealing with people who do not like or do not appreciate our passion for quads.
I wasn't trying to point out the amount of events the QQRA have happening, I was trying to point out what the QQRA are trying to do for our chosen sport for all of Qld not just SEQld which nearly caused the club to fold up until people like Dan got involved. Anybody who knows the history of the QQRA knows that the club ended up catering for a small group of people who were only interested in racing moto-x in a limited radius in SEQld. We need people as passionate as yourself involved in increasing the opportunities to ride in as many places as possible.
I sincerely hope you collaborate with the QQRA in any endeavour you pursue, as all members will support any cause to increase riding oppurtunities particularly family riding. May I suggest you try to make it along to the next QQRA get-together/club meeting to see just how open and transperant the club is. I can assure you nothing is hidden from interested parties. Again I hope your club membership grows out of site and if I were closer it would be another quad organisation I would happily join (to add to the 8 or so quad/moto-x clubs my family are a part of) _________________ 10 LTR 555 Dingo

Well, this thread is certainly living up to the title!
Without wishing to get involved in the politics, I'll echo what dingo555 has to say re the new organisation.
Good on yers!
There is nothing wrong with a club forming to suit there specific needs.
That passion is good for all of us, as individuals and club members.
Just as there is different bikes, there is different riders and needs.
And while this forum is handy to pass tid-bits around,
I'd reckon that there would be plenty of room around the camp-fires at Manor Park for everyone.
I will also point out, that there is people actively working behind the scenes to try and get other quad/buggy related ventures off the ground.
These include mud competitions and trips along the beach between Noosa and Rainbow Beach as well as camping/fishing/holiday trips on Frazer Island and various tours of areas within Queensland.
As Manor Park is fairly central to so many of us participating in this and the GCATVA threads, maybe driving for several hours to participate in a social weekend at a venue that is big enough to fufill most of our requirements would be a good thing? _________________ Remember.
