They got replaced with better ltr450 look for a good quad.

I had and got both the ltr 450 is better ,go ahead in life bloke. not backwards.

hi ya'all, yeah,i do love those old 2 strokes but im not after one to be competive on ( to old & broken for that  !!), just for the fun factor (they feel light) ,price, and as akeepsake. plus they are easier to ride than my trike !

I have a 86 LT 250 R G. and a 87 LT 500 R H This is my second 250.. i bought it about 12 months ago from Hervey Bay and have only seen one other for sale since then,it was in Tas,and didn't look to be in very good nick.The last 500 I saw for sale was at least four years or so ago and was worth as much as a new 450.
As for which is better, provided the suspension is overhauled on the old 250, its way lighter,has just as much tyre on the ground and has as much or more ground clearance, I know which one i Ride... |

Sorry Mate .. I had an 85 model in the early 90's for many years then it was stolen, and i have just got the 86 model for the same reason you want one.I doubt i will ever get rid of it,and i have been keeping a look out for a second one for my brother but no luck yet.
The way to get one would be to import one from the States. they are cheapish to buy and it costs about $1500 to get it here which makes it expensive overall. I looked into doing this when i was looking into getting the 500 as i didn't find one for many years,and it looked like the only way to go....Then my brother found and told me about the one i have now.
Keep a look out one may turn up... |

Hi guys
I currently have 4 quads, a 87 lt500 with a 540HRD DrQ top end from the states + pipe, a 85 lt250 fully rebuilt, 87 Trx 250 and a 05 trx450. The 05 4 poker is nice but nothing beats the raw power hit of a 2 stroker especially the HRD540.
af12a606934 that 500 you saw 4 sale 4 years ago i bought it, it was a one owner and i use to ride with the guy in the late eighties. It had been babied all its life.
I dont think i will ever sell the 500! |
