i think if you buy an import you will hate quads with out giving them a real go
i got one for my wife and it was a hand full to ride and was borderline out of control (she didnt enjoy her self when riding) i then put her on my raptor and she wouldnt get off

what i am trying to say is with an import you will get the wrong opinion about quads and you could give them bad feedback with out really having a chance to really enjoy the power and handling they have to offer

thanks daniel

look mate if it was me i would just take the money and look for a cheap yami blaster or good brand quad of ebay or somewhere like that

my cousin has one of those air cooled 200 chineese quads and we spend more time fixing it than we do riding it
it is a total piece of crap
shat suspension,rims crack,always leaks oil
in my opinion i would never own one they are total crap just save your dough and buy a good one that is easy to get parts for

cheers
luke

not all of these chinese quads are bad, as a matter of fact, i used to race a kazuma oryx 150 at junior speedway and we didnt have one problem with it and it was raced for 3 seasons. it depends on where you get it from, who you get it from, and which factory it comes from. also it is a matter of choice as some people will only go for the branded names such as yamaha, honda etc.

as a dealer in chinese and taiwanese product my opinion is i think you should be very careful when purchasing this type of quad. now that sounds like i'm bagging my own product but here's the thing. we sell both cheap and upper end products and have been doing so for the last 5 years. there is enormous gains to be had by following the old saying "you only get what you pay for". usually cheapest means low end quality control procedures and policies. the price also reflects the level of after sales service you are likely to receive too. an example: here in adelaide you can buy a 200cc quad for a little over $1000. (not from me but they are available) contrast to that, i sell a 300cc with dual A arms disc brakes etc that rides very similarly to the old 300ex honda. there are some downfalls to this model such as hard brittle plastics but it retails new for $4500 assembled , pre-delivery inspected and with 6 months parts and labour warranty. we do a great deal of repairs to chinese/taiwanese quads and motorcycles mostly for people who chose the cheap option. in a lot of cases this was because the product was purchased from an internet based seller or a small importer, and the seller either didnt have the knowledge or desire to provide the customer with a satisfactory outcome. experience is a great teacher also. we brought an ag model quad in when we first started up that was a real shocker. we ended up replacing the quads with better quality ones free of charge to the people we sold them to.
now please by no means consider this an attempt on my part to sell you a quad. that is not my intention here, but be very careful what you buy and who you buy from if you do decide to purchase a chinese or taiwanese product.
ps all quads are imports as there are no australian manufacturers of them
and buying a secondhand brand name unit usually means you get someone elses trouble

I would certainly try to avoid chinese quads.Asecond hand name brand would be the best option if your budget can stretch that far.I made the mistake of buying one and found that it was unpredictable to ride and bolts started to fall off after the first 100 mt.One bottle of loctite later it started to self destruct due to bad suspension geomitry and bad ,soft metal.ie:axle spline flogged out , slop in steering due to wear in tie rod ends .tHE AIR CLEANER WAS just a bit of foam but it had a drain hole 1 inch diameter on the filtered side.It now sits in the corner of my shed and if any one is willing i'd be happy to sell it for a slab of draught.
Three screaming kids later a bought a suzuki. No more screaming.

I couldn't agree more with !@#$ huge. But as Ad plant equip said there are taiwanese quads on the market and if aeon builds their quads to similar specs to what they build polaris pheonix's to they can't be too bad .We couldn't be hapier with the wifes pheonix and that is built in taiwan by aeon under licence for polaris.

Do your home work and you have already started by asking here...yes you do only get what you pay for I have imported a few models now and I also have a 300cc its on ebay at the moment The plastic thing is an issue but the real problem is getting it serviced near you, I took it to several bike shops and they didnt want to now about it I guese if you are in adelaide or live close to a reputable dealer of these quads you will be ok. The 300cc I have most predator parts will fit funny enough the seat even fits my pred but the engine and drive is very diffrent and you will have to service them ...Adelaideplantandequipment take his advice....
