heres my letter, sent to many in guv
Dear Sir,
As an off-road rider of 30 years, I would like to provide some input for you to consider regarding the Wyaralong off-road motorcycle facility.
I think some basic facilities, such as car/trailer park, toilet/shower block and BBQs would be greatly appreciated. As there are many types of off-road vehicles, I think it would be necessary to include mini-bikes, trail bikes, quad bikes and side-by-side vehicles. This would allow many families to enjoy the park together.
The use of vehicles such as off-road cars and 4WD's would not be suitable for safety and errosion concerns. There are many other legal areas for these vehicles.
As far as safety goes it would be great to have specified fenced off riding areas for children on mini-bikes and quads. Trails having varied lengths and degrees of difficulty could be marked with "one way" direction arrows to help with safety.
A "Rego/Insurance" system could be investigated. A reasonable cost per bike or rider, would be of great benefit to all participants.
I'm sure the local towns of Beaudesert & Boonah would appreciate the extra business to the community from sales such as fuel, food and accommodation purposes.
Thank you for the opportunity to have some imput into this great Government initiative.
Regards
Gary Phelan |

i am sure it was mentioned, but some exposure on the QQRA website suggesting ALL members to particpate would surely be helpful to increase numbers.I am not causing trouble, just a suggestion.Think of the response from a footy club for such an opportunity to talk directly to the people who can provde so much.So ACE209 how about it?

thanx shan660,as i said, not trying to be pushy but, sheesh, what do you have to do get some bloody action!! On one hand we have the powers that be saying
"and what would like for an off road park"?and on the other hand not much!!So we may not get everthing but at least we have their attention for a short while. If the gov get 6 replies,it shows a lot of interest from us, not.We need to bombard the office with positive suggestions to show we NEED somewhere legal to ride, and ,THANK YOU for providing it.
And how many members are there on this and other forums?
rant over,gazman. |

I've just received the standard letter back from Phil Reeves office. BUT..........
Noted that it is "the proposed Wyaralong Dam recreational vehicle site." on our same dated letter as opposed to "the proposed Wyaralong Bike Park." in another reply letter that I have viewed.
Hmm. Interesting between the lines.
So, does that mean their is more than one standard response to our heartfelt pleas?
Or did someone actually read and comprehend the fact that "off-roaders" are actually much more than only MXers? ( Buggies, quads and trail bikes to name a few. )
I'll hurry up and wait. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

And if anyone is curious what the other crowd think, this is the email address for the relevant NLP Shadow Minister.
noosa@parliament.qld.gov.au
That is the Shadow Minister for Climate Change And Sustainability, Mr Glen Elmes.
I hope the Honorable Minister can make a effort to respond promptly to my query. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

| just got a reply from Mr Reeves. Thanks for my email,we will think about it.etc, etc ,get back to you later.Mine also said"rec vehicle site"Well its a start i suppose. And all the other riders from all over Aus,don't think this just applies to SE Qld.This info and format should be adopted by everyone to their appropriate minister in all states. Is there an election looming? If we don't tell them how will they know what we want(need).Thats two replies now.gazman. |

That's good news Gazzman. I've had 3 replies from various government depts. All fairly standard but all notice of our needs is welcome. Thanks to those who have taken the time to have your say. _________________ TGB 550 Blade with custom paint work
