|
Hi guys, my names Paul and Im 25 from Sydney, Im a Taurus and like moon lit walks along the shore line with that special some one....
Just kidding, I love anything that gets my adrenaline pumping - just picked up a 09 700R run out model and prior to that had a 01 YZ250 however sold it just before xmas as I realised waiting 25 years to learn how to stay on two wheels is harder then it looks on Nitro Circus.
Would love to get another 2 wheeler down the road but now I am more then happy with the Raptor which I am appropriately naming Faptor.
Anyways guys, hopefully we can catch up some time and go for a ride untill then take care.

Hello Paul, my names Ben, im 29 and also a Taurus... i however prefer to roost sand on my trike rather than a walk on it.
Is that you in your avatar? Cause thats exactly the sort of riding buddy im looking for...
You should think about getting the Faptor rego'd for Stockton Beach and go riding there...its awesome. Plenty of good people from here ride there. All the details about getting Rego from the RTA is in NSW Discussion. Welcome and i hope to see you out there one day. _________________

Hey Paul welcome to the forum,
the raptor is awesome quad bought mine back in november.
How much did you pay for the spacers might put them on mine.
Make your next mod to pull out the spark arrestor and listen to it bark then, good cheap power increase too. just one allen bolt on the bottom and some multi grips and out she comes.
Anyways enjoy being on four wheels mate |

Hi mate...
Yeah very happy with it!
The spacers were $150 plus shipping. Will let you know the difference in handling after this weekend, although its meant to piss down so I might be getting a little wet
Are there any issues with taking the spark arrestor out? Is there any point in taking the baffling out? I was meant to get my GYTR exhaust and headers (and the other parts listed above) put on this week but due to a family member being on hospital and off their feet for a month or so, its been pushed back a week or two. Parts are waiting at the dealer, just need to organise some time to drop it off.
Will get pics/vid of the mods once done. |

| cheers for that , I have had no issues with just the spark arrestor out but if you remove airbox aswell it needs remapping power increase is pretty good with just that removed if you have pipe on the way probably wouldnt bother with baffle. try it on weekend only 2 minutes to remove and put back in. interested in how your spacers go, so enjoy the weekend ride |

Footage is from Sunday (07/03/10).
Spacers worked well, was doubling a light mate most of the ride Sunday and fell alot more stable.
Actually saw a guy on a Polaris race quad (Who I think was trying to put on a bit of a show for me and my female mate as he passed ) get flung off and thrown 5 metres. Bent the control arm and bars, fairings were a bit busted up. |

Managed to get to Stockton last Sunday despite fears of getting stuck in a storm. Turned out to be perfect weather and deserted.
What did I think of riding on sand?
HOLY ******* ****!
I thought trails were fun, now I just have to move
closer to Stockton lol.
Also met a nice bloke on a Kawasaki 700 race quad from the forum. Had a good time thrashing around! |

Hey Ernie,
Hahaha mate I pack seven shades of brown in about 4 seconds from that little mishap, luckily managed to power out of it! Out of the whole days footage thats the only video that didn't have sound for some reason (Thank god as I probably would have been swearing like a trooper).
Was good seeing you again mate, have to catch up next time - might miss this week and head back the week after for Sat + Sun!
Talk soon bud! |

Should of listened to you mate, roosting is so much fun
I retract my previous statement that the VHOLDR is better then the GoPro HD. After seeing the footage from last week, the difference is fairly obvious, GoPro for the win.
No problems, will have more up as soon as I can get some get flight happening |

Hey Paul,
Mate that looked pretty bad and I know the feeling. Rolling on sand hurts, I bet the dirt felt like concrete. You ride hard for somebody new to quads, At least you live up to your user name.
I bet you fell like you visited oxford street, Had your drink spiked and woke up under Big Bubba named Priscilla.
I know your ok, But how did the raptor hold up?
Keep the shiny side up......Cheere Ernie. _________________ KFX 700

Hahaha thanks Ernie! Was going even harder yesterday as I took my mate to Stockton and he went ape "profanity removed" (Like I told him he would)
Im feeling much better now - still limping a tad. I snapped the plastic clip on the rear right fender that is connected to the grab bar, bent the rear right fender and the bars -so all in all - not too bad. The fender just popped back into position and Ive put in new bolts to secure the grab bar. Will replace the hangers with flexx bars I think in a few weeks (The bend in them atm isn't enough to warrant new ones as yet).
Will do mate, hopefully see you at on the dunes soon! |

Some recent random shots...
How NOT to attempt a water crossing on a quad (That you just picked up the day before brand new too). So I tell him lean back. I tell him pop the front up before you hit the water. I tell him to power through the water with enough speed so you don't bog. He leans forward and braces himself at a average speed, this is the result
