Just curious what people are running for night racing, trail riding, hunting, etc. SA's enduro series this year has several night sections, Plus the Thumb Pump night Race, so it seems that it might be neccesity sooner rather than later. My main reason for setting up decent lights is due to the long hours I work I only really get to ride/train in the evenings from about 6-9pm and after a few close calls I started to do some research and found a company called VisionX who specialise in High output LED and HID lighting. They are not a cheap light but due to the low wattage/current draw and high output they are perfectly suited to bikes with or with out a battery so now banshee's blasters 250r's can have awesome lights without needing to have wiring and stators upgraded saving $300-400. which is about the cost of a pair of these lights. Anyway below are a few pics of the lights and some night pics to compare before and after. Breno213 and Hustleratvracing also have these lights fitted and hopefully they'll whack up a few pics to show different set ups.

Anyway show us what you have and give us a bit of a review ie cost, placement, wattage, etc |

| I will be setting up a similar Vision X system, hopefully next week on an LTR 450. Will be trying a few different configurations and may post some pics. Looks great JRE, ready for some night time fun. |

The King Quad has three 35 watt quartz halogen head lights which are excellent in their own right.
I added a couple of 55 watt quartz halogen spots and I can tell you it now really lights up the beach and tracks.

| About 50m and pics are high beam with and without LEDs. King Quads must have a decent stator to run 215watts of lights plus fan and tail lights. But I guess ag quads would be better equipped |

if i was doing night racing i would also put some lights on the helmet, because your not always going were the bike is facing. i use to do a lot of downhill ridding an free ridding at night, an the light on your helmet makes it 100% better. well lets say your going sideways around a corner. your head is facing were your going but your bike is side ways. you lights on your quad will be going off the track, but if you have them on your helmet you will see where you going. look up the Fenix brand of tourches. they make very light tourches with a lot of bunch. i have three an they are awesome, water proof, all aliminum. an is LED only mines pushing out 300lumens i'm pretty sure, they last a fair while an then you just change the AA batterys. no wiring no worries.
thanks

| I can also get light bars like on my handle bars up to 28 LEDs wide or 52 inches/1320mm equivilent to 7x 35watt HID's they even have round mount brackets especially for cages. 52inch costs about $3250 7x Hella HID's cost around $7000 that said 4 hella HID's on the RZR is overkill anyway but they look the goods. |

| I've had a word with the distributor and have sussed out a better deal on the solstice lights if I can get a good number together and do a bulk buy I can get them for $150 each delivered to your door so who is interested to to help get everyone a good price??? I looked on ebay usa and they are $119 us plus about $20us postage and insurance so they'll cost around $160 au so these are a really good deal. not often you can buy USA product cheaper in Oz |

Actually - 4 x Hella Rallye 4000 compacts off ebay australia for $800 incl postage and 2 HID kits from China $200 incl freight. Converted by me. Total of $1000.
PS: Where I ride 4 lights are not overkill, I like to see what I dont want to hit when your travelling at 100kph, especially the Skippy type. Oh, and the stock headlights are also HID, $85 from China. _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

thats a good price for 4000's but I was refering to Hella Predators 35 watt Hid they are around 1000-1200 each. so you scored a bargain. HID lights are good for around 1200 meters penetration so an RZR will never outrun that much light so definately not 4 of them.
Do you find it hard to find places to explore and play?? |
