I think its to do with costs incurred to pay the land owners liability?? The more people that come the cheaper it is, so if theres not enough people its too expensive to run?

thus cancelled

C'mon people lets get this uncancelled !!!!! C'mon geoff

mate, never mind about how the qrcv do things, its a club and has rules and guidelines to follow, and they are doing a good job of it. its not just a bunch of blokes hooking up for a weekend ride. Sometimes it might be easier to do it that way, but like i said they have their own guidelines to follow. Very Happy

Unfortunately the club needs at least ten confirmed starters to make the event viable, apart from making it worth the property owners while, the club has to apply for an event permit from MV, which is non refundable (I think). Easter time is always hard as people mostly already have other plans. Shame though, as it's a 6000 acre property & nearly all bush & even some sand to play in, the owner & his boys are real nice folk too.
Hope we get back there some other time.
cheers.........

No idea Mate. I'm referring to the rides on post #1. I'm not even a member yet I'll be just tagging along going with the flow.

I'm grade 4/5 on a bike and I reckon around grade 3/4 (ATM) on the Quad (trail riding). I think I'm going about as fast as my currant suspension will allow.
I'm getting faster on the Quads but I missed a corner the other day on the IRS and went straight off a 3 meter high embankment onto a road. It was that or become intimate with a few big Gum trees. Thank God there were no Cars coming at the time.

My ambitions tell me I'm level 5 but my ability's say level 3 laughing.

Willow.

Ay I'd be in it in a flash (If I were a Victorian) Maybe one day. How much do this thing cost? Is there discounts the more bikes you rope in. Family discounts as opposed to singles?

I am putting together a loop. I have the basic loop worked out It's just a matter of incorporating and linking it to the better tracks on offer.
It'll be a grade 3+ ride at a grade 4 pace with optional hill climbs ranging from grade 3 to grade 5/6. It's not on private property though so riders will need to ride at their own risk of a fine etc.
My Old girl lives on 50 acres so camping will be an option. I'm just waiting on the right time and weather then I'll host a ride weekend.

Cheers,
Willow.

The bloke I ride Quads with drives the bulldozer that makes most of the logging tracks in my area.
He wanted me to go up one the other day that is almost vertical and goes forever. It'd have to be a grade 7+ hill. I've ridden up it on my bike once and struggled to get back down. That was in the dry. While I was at the top I couldn't even look over or get near the edge as I don't like heights. If you ever come down this way sometime I'll show it to you. It won't be part of my loop but we go past it so it will be optional.
They couldn't pay me enough to drive a bulldozer up some of the hills he does.

The main reason I bought a Quad is because they are so well suited to this area. We have heaps of logging tracks but not much ST. An Razor would be unbelievable around here.

there's hill at dargo, and I was going down it and I could feel the back end lifting up, and when i got down, I didnt care how far I had to go around, I was not going back up it, gee I copped some flack for it too, but no way. There's a few hills out my way which I've yet to take plunge, pun intended. Very Happy

The event was cancelled because the property owner requires a certain amount of money to use his property, as the event was to be held in 2 weeks time and i have only received 1 or 2 phone calls. The cost is too high per rider if only a couple of people turn up, thats why we have a minimum of 10 riders. I don't think its fair if i wait until the last minute to tell the property owner the event is cancelled. Sorry for any inconvenience but for future events I need to know at least 2 weeks before the event except for family day which is an open event.
Thanks, Geoff Hamilton
