My wife (an old lady of 52) Laughing rides a Honda TRX 250. She only took it up a few years ago and while she has done a few club events she is wondering how challenging thumb pump is. Her main concern is that she is slow and steady, rides for fun and has no desire to come off! As we are coming down from Alice so that I can do the Thumb Pump she is now wondering whether she should take part as well. She would be happy if she just did one or two laps but doesn't want to do it if she is going to be 'in the way' Rolls eyes Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

Hey mate Clare will be fine . My advice is just ride normal . Most racers are Gentlemen and will wiss round her with no bother at all . Tell to have a good break between laps or even a break half way round.

How's Masters shaping up ?

Have a go and have some fun.
If anyone gets anoyed with slow riders, It's those hot heads that are in the wrong.
TP300 is for everyone.
Overtaking actually adds some strategy to each lap for the fastest riders.
Sometimes they have to push themselves to overtake on preffered sections of the track without losing time.
And when they get there, the good riders will be courteous and do it well.
Mick had considered a trail ride class that might not even have been scored.
Do it as Husky recommended or team up.

Yep, she will be fine mate.
But sorry, MA don't allow trikes under their permits.

speaking from experiance (riding like an old lady) Laughing tell her to ride at her own pace, and dont itimedated by any one else, I held just about everyone up at least once, the last two years, but I paid my dollar and I own the track too. There was only two guys told me to get the F$#&*@##ing hell out their way, because I was to slow, hey but thats only two out of a lot. So let the GLW know she will be fine, and to enjoy it, but like everyone else here has said, enter into teams, its the best way for a novice. Very Happy

Yogie if I was you and they told me that I would have just blocked them in more. Everyone in the race has to deal with riders slower than them so its not like slow people just pop up infront of you. Everyone had to deal with it.

No there's no point in doing that, I have always ridden at MY own pace wether on the trail and track, and I tried to get out of the way and help where I could, lets face it out of 60 odd riders, there will always be the top ten that will share the silver around, and thats fine. And the first TP, I set a few little goals to acheive and I did a few of them wich was as good as finishing first. The second TP was designed by my ex wife Rolls eyes because she hates me also Laughing
So get out there have a blast, dont destroy your bike or bones fo the sake of NOT fishing in the top ten or what ever. And its the top ten finishers that are the great guys out there. And they have my utmost respect. one guy in particular was fantastic in the way he treated me out there, with encuragement, and that is what enduro racing is about. beating yourself and if you get a silver cup or a plauge, more the better.

and this here, I didnt get the "holeshot" but i came 7th lol

I watched that clip and I'm sure no-one clipped in a kill switch before starting the engine?

Not the first few riders anyway.
