Hi folks, the 700xx is the the most underated quad on the planet. I have had one for 3 months and can not fault it, with a few bucks thrown at it they can be a real trail weapon.

havnt done any mods as yet just nerfs and kill switch,but will be getting a pipe and controller when funds are good

ill look into them cheers,i fitted the kill switch i used a pro design one , bit off topic but ive got a 3 day trail ride coming up, we did this trip last year and i had 2 cart a huge back pack full of 3 days worth of gear so ive been making this up to carry my swag and stuff

the 700xx is a very underrated quad, I have ridden both the outlaw IRS, 500 and 525 over some decent distances and have also spent a bit of time on a 700xx, straight out of the crate the Poolaris has it hands down, they do handle much better and are a little more snappy but the 700 has much more potential I think, bit of suspension work and uncork the motor it is a real weapon in the bush and out in the desert, just a pity about the stupid size 11 rear wheels....

yeah its stainless, just have to make a few more mounts for it and weld it all out

Hi Phil, first I fited Maxxis Razar to the rear makes the quad slid heaps better over the standard Dunlops. Then I put Kendas XCF 22x7x10 up front this makes the quad roll through the bumps much better and makes the quad sit better Wayne Matlock actually uses 23 but there a bit big. The biggest single improvement was the full HMF Bill Ballance system with controller and Pro Design filter with the billet adapter this gives the quad heaps more grunt real seat of the pants stuff my thing can now wipe out a Raptor with the same mods. I also got some Trail Tec clamps from the States this makes you ride further up front to the point where there is no front end pushing I also fitted Trail Tec bars which are made for quads with less sweep. I am also in the process of having my standard shocks re-valved and that should make a huge difference in the way it handles all for $600. You dont need to throw any more money at this thing than you do a SRA machine it just depends on how far you want to go just like everything else. Regards Overlord

That's unusual. Both bikes have 686cc motors and stock horsepower at around 39hp. A full exhaust and controller mod lifts the ponies on both bikes to around 44.5hp. But given that the Honda is heavier (230kg vs 191kg) I would have thought that the power to weight ratio would tip the advantage the Raptor's way in any race contested by evenly matched riders. My 2c...these things are big, comfy and powerful trail beasts straight out of the box. But...they are a unique stand alone model that don't require comparisons to other models or versus threads to highlight their qualities.

In the real world (Trail Riding) the weight means nothing and the IRS is everything especially when it comes to getting the power down. I have proved it time and time again. Why dont you come to the Rock Garden in the ACT and lets see how lomg your Raptor last. Real bikes for th real world my boy. In reality I loved my Raptor 700 and I thought it was the best trail quad I had ever rode untill I got my 700xx.

The cough cough bit was supposed to be a joke and you will see that I said I would have thought that the weight difference would tip the advantage the Raptor's way, which was an observation. I don't want to come to the Rock Garden because I am happy riding trails here in Western Australia and rocks hurt when you fall on them. As I said in my post the 700xx is a great trail ride, no arguments from me.

i would say motor and frame. Also the gearbox has quite a bit extra to centralise the drive sprocket so that the axles are equal length.

No mate not having a go at all. When these things first came out they were unfairly compared to the only other bike in its engine size range and dismissed by some for their heavier weight and different styling. Now that they have been out on the market for some time, their performance has spoken for itself. Unfortunately there is only one of these bikes within 1000klm of here as far as I am aware and the bugger who owns it won't let me have a ride.
