Hey guys, I picked up my 1st atv on friday after having a go of my mates and loved it!
I got a 2008 polaris 525 irs straight off the floor.

Ive been running it in all weekend but got a little bored of putting around so give it a bit and hit a tree stump in some long grass.

I came away fine but the quad... I have buckled the rim and bent what I think is called the tie rod. (On the right side, bar that links wheel to steering mechanism) resulting in the right wheel facing a different direction to the left. Im not sure on what atv parts are called yet so bare with me..

My question is: Is there anywhere in the brisbane area to buy atv acc.? And if not where should I go. Im not interested in replacing with stock gear either, unless this is what you guys would recommend.

I would also be after some nerf bars and a decent exhaust!

Any help would be much appreciated so I can get my new girl back in top condition and on the dirt again!

Cheers guys!

mate if all that's wrong is that it's bent Rolls eyes take the rod off, bend it back straight you won't get it perfect but then just do a wheel alignment been there done that a log driving up between the A arm and the rod coursin it to bend

sometimes you bend the arm in the centre. I would just straighten them for a while till you do the job proper....

Hey mate,
welcome to quad ridding. If you register your bike you can also ride in the State forests.

Enjoy the sport. Best fun you can have with your clothes on!!! laughing

". If you register your bike you can also ride in the State forests. "

I'm not sure where you read that , but if you read the legislation around the conditional rego in Qld you will see that you are only covered for "access roads" in and around QLD. Or for moving a farm implement from one paddock to another using an "access road" This does not extend to riding through state forests.

Be careful.
