What makes you think that it does not handle? I have over 20,000 miles on the streets going to ride meets with other bikes and two years off road. It does 140 miles per hour, and corners much better than a bike. I have done 650 miles in a day, many times.
Let me run the cost for you
15,000 for the bike new for most bikes that have the needed power
4500 for the shocks Ohlins custom
2,000 for the wheels and tires three piece
1,000 for the paddle tires and wheels 24 " 14 ripper custom
2,000 for the hubs billet
2,000 for the brakes 12" radial mount
It takes 80 manhours of welding tig for the frame and swingarm
The motor takes a week of modifications including the headers and oil pan
The a arms take another week of machine and fabrications.
The rear axle and carrier are almost a grand.
Yeah, you could do it cheaper, and there are pricing for all phases you would like to have done. And I doubt you are able to. But, I don't know you, so I could be wrong.
Yall get Sand Sports Mag over there? It was in the july aug issue. Dirt wheels too. But that was in 04 I think. |

your final product looks great for a road tourer im not questioning that,
but its very big and long.
i prefer to stick with a atv chassis to get the bike as small and compact as possible to keep up with the handling that it was once capable of.
have a look at yfz10r on youtube,
do you have your overal dimensions and weight of your bike?
just to compare it to mine thats all. |

It is ment for the road, yes, but is just a capable off road. It is 54 wide and 64 long weighs 500 lbs with 150 hp setup for the off road. We ride together and will handle just like the other bikes, for a man. I weigh 220 and am 6 ft. But, I am not a kid any more, 56 now and have been riding in the sandhills since 74 almost every weekend. The hills here cover 25 sq miles. And that is just the park. Just inside Texas, at the south east corner of new mexico. The hills run about 120 miles long, much of it is available to ride.
But, riding on the street is why I built it, and it is much improvement over a bike.
I do have a Cannondale that I ride so I understand your point. I raced 5 years pro quad when I was younger on my trx250r, that I also still have. My son started out on it and went to a trx450r. He has been racing since he was 16 pro, and is 25 now.
No I don't race any more, arthritis is to bad.
Thanks for checking my site out. Really. |

well I see you do have some skills at fabrication, nice job, got any build pictures to look at?
One of the reasons mine is as long as it is is I raced it and wheelies are not fast, 7 sec and 100 mph in the 1/8 mile drag track.
Runs as fast as the drag banshee's in the sand but I am geared about 120 mph as it is quick and fast.
I have a few guys that have done the bike motors in quad chasies and they are fine. But, I wanted to be able to run on the street and that means a title and tags and inspection. I have done 10 states and it must be legal on the road to do that.Never been stopped. Maybe the only one here in the US. |

down under we arnt alowed to ride anything like that on the road due to having a rigid rear axle, theres no slip in it for turning.
so it wont pass Australian Design Rules.
it must have a open or LSD style centre differential.
which is there way of stopping us.
if we designed a diff centre they would find another excuse. |
