Just had word back that the WA government will not allow quads permits to do the Australian Safari.
This realy sucks and is retarding the growth of our sport.
If anyone can think of a way to help make this happen, please do so.
Tha Safari is an International event for racers and should be available for quads as it is in the DAKAR.

i assume your in WA who is your state sport and rec minister ... make representations to him/her and if no joy there go federal it ios an election year after all. as this is an international event perhaps some manufacturers would like to get off their asses for a change and push a little in the direction of supporting OUR SPORT. as they do in the states.

In WA here we have what is called a "B Class" enduro competition licence which allows enduro bikes to participate in events that may go on unsealed roads and state forrests during an event.
A Few months ago we approached the Trail and enduro state committee about involving quads in their series, with that came the opportunity for the CEO of MWA to follow up with the states Department of Planning and Infrastructure Technical Department, to add the word Quads into the B Class enduro licence.
Meeting has been held, and now we are awaiting the outcome of whether it will happen, unfortunately the guy involved was going on holidaysfor 4 weeks, so hopefully it was going to be done before he left.
It was pointed out to them, re the Australian Safari if it didnt happen.
Hopefully if this comes through, then possibly the quads at the Safari will too, fingers crossed.
Brett Soltoggio is heading the enduro side of things for Quads for 2007 and was at the meeting with the dept of P&I

NO quads no matter what
