And its good news about the yellow submarine.
laughing laughing laughing laughing laughing laughing
Her bilges have been pumped.
Her decks are yet to swabbed
Her engine room looks fine.
We got her out in time.
laughing laughing laughing laughing laughing laughing
Her return to port under tow.
Means shes good to go.
Despite all the mirth.
She had a crew that knows what its worth.
laughing laughing laughing laughing laughing laughing

But its bad news about the helmet cam.
Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad
The footage is great.
Showed how we help our mates.
The sound all round.
How wet was the ground.
Surprised Surprised Surprised Surprised Surprised Surprised Surprised
But who was the clown?
Who filmed it all Upside Down!
It was the one who flashed his quads undies.
Quiet and ashamed, he's reaching for his coke and bundies
laughing laughing laughing laughing laughing laughing .

Ahh, boys were wanting to go and I just threw the helmetcam on.
Didn't realise until I uploaded it that it was upside down. laughing laughing
After watching it in the laptop upside down a few times, I figure the editing will be worth it......
Very Happy

thanks all for a great day riding, i had a ball...mud, mishaps, mayhem and plenty of air. laughing
Now the cleaning begins...thanks Rossco for leading us on some great tracks. Look forward to heading out again soon.
Dino and Teesh, spectacular mud hole roll, and then pulled the CF on its wheels and were strait back into it, well played!

TRIP REPORT 31/01/2010

At 6am on the sunday morning, Rusty, The Jackal, Rosco ( trip leader ), VonHammer,Teesh ( my better 1/2 ) and myself met at the BP Burpengary near the KFC sign. ( bucket on a stick )
The bikes were Grizzly 700, 350 raptor, Outlander 800, another Grizzly 700 and our CF Moto 500A. ( a 2 up ). With the weather forecast to hit that afternoon, and only Vonhammer and Rosco able to play on after lunch, we still reckoned a good mornings ride could be had. All keen as, we set off.
......................................................................
A hour later we were unloaded, kitted out and off in this maze of forestry tracks in the Glass House Mountains. All bikes registered and good to go. Err, Vonhammer "had misplaced" his number plate, but it wasn't long before we found another one if required.
Rosco lead us all over the joint, at a pace a bit brisk for some, at times. The weather was showery with occasional squalls. The tracks were sandy clays. The bush was wet and beautiful. Some classic rainforest that had me thinking:
"This is a cross between mountain biking and boxing. I can't let go of the bars and I can't hit back!" The vines were fairly thick in spots. Surprised
The Jackal did a awesome job getting that 350 every where the 2-diffed quads went, only needing a helping hand once. A quick discussion agreed that smoko was a good idea. While we had smoko, the Jackal packed up. Not chicken but had commitments. The really 4wd quad stuff started after smoko.....
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Deep and deeper holes, bigger washouts and rougher tracks. Rosco was determined to show us everything this scenic spot had to offer.
...........................................................................
I managed to zig when everyone else zagged. Ended up with Teesh and I on our backsides in the mud, with the bike on it's side on dry land.
Naturally this happened at a very large boghole surrounded by a larger group of 4wd enthuiasts carrying a big variety of film and recording equipment eek eek eek
Put it on its wheels, mounted up and left them behind. And thanks for coming back Rusty! Only real wound was pride. Sad
It was not long after that when the video , posted above, Hrm happened.
It was a combined effort to float that .....error onto more solid ground.
.............................................................................
Vonhammer towed the sulking yellow submarine to the nearest level ground.
The panels were taken off and we tipped her on its side to drain the airbox out. The sparkplugs came out wet. The sump overflowed out of the dipstick....
Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad We looked at the options and got it figured.
Rather than be wizz kids on the track, we figured, don't start it. We'll just flat tow it back to camp. And Rosco can get done what needs to be done at home. We still had to negoiate a few gnarley bits and load it but Rusty and his trusty Grizzly did the tow-truck thing easy. He's made a top class hitch for it. Wink While Vonhammer, Teesh and I swept for easier ways past things.
...........................................................................
Back at camp, I put the icing on Rosco's day by using that "China bike, you know? The good one!" to scull drag him onto his trailer. Rider, bike, brakes on and and all like a sling shot. Yee-Haa
Other than the naval incident, it was a top ride. We're all keen to meet up and do it again. A bit drier and slower perhaps.
P.S.
That afternoon and night, ex-tropical cyclone Olga dumped over another 100mm in that area.
P.S.S.
The Can-Am may be down, but it's not out. The full report isn't in yet,
but a few cleansing oil changes may well be all that's needed. Very Happy
