Getting back to the thread....
I use to travel a lot, the photo's I'd have to dig out of the back shed. If the local ante-cliness ( native rats ) haven't eaten them.....
Caravans, dongas, swags under the counterwieghts, the sleeperboxes, canvas tents and nylon miracles, the decks of the barges, old pubs, motels, a tarp in the sand, a double mattress on the box trailer, an old blanket on a bed of bracken fern........
We don't travel much more than weekends now, but our current swag is a "burke and wills" redgum deluxe double. Pretty dear and bulky but its worked in all weathers and climates. It can't be beaten for quick setup and pack-up. VERY comfy mattress.
That's the go for us travelling in the car.
Um, we've not done a quad only-based trip yet, though we've got a variety of lightwieght gear that should all fit. We'll be giving that a go soon. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

I'd better not go camping anywhere near Morphett Vale S.A.
I'd probably end up with a gut shot dog. _________________ 2010 Sukuki

i woudlnt think that my shot was anywhere near its gut.
it was sitting facing me and thats the exit wound.
the entrance was smack in the middle of its chest, bullet came out between its shoulder blades.
you tell me where a better place to aim for would be. |

This thread was about camps/swags/caravans etc and somebody mentioned a pet which was in good humour so I thought I'd mention mine. I didn't think there would be any harm in that and I don't think any other reasonable forum member would either.
You had to come along, being a complete SMART ARSE, and post a picture that pretty tasteless and inappropriate leading to a moderator deleting it.
If you want to go around shooting things, well, that's up to you but you've got no need to post your conquests on forums like this.
I'm not a wowser and I've owned guns and shot plenty of things in the past but fair is fair. _________________ 2010 Sukuki

hi matty700r, i reckon tasatv has gone to bed so i will answer 4him,, yeah we do go there a fair bit for one reason or another, mostly bike riding to the pub in the paddock and so forth,, another friend of mine and neils has a shack about 10 kays away and its a good place for a base to ride all over the joint,, around Ben Lomond national park and the Roses Tier area , there is hundreds of kilometers of tracks around there as you would probably know.. also orsm place for fishn and stuff.
cheers Tony. |

yeah i have, from scammander you can sorta go anywhere.. like up to upper scamander and through to mount nicholas then the world is your oyster, or ya can go the other way to st.helens via diannas basin or even sorta up to st.marys pass and then carke it down the side of elefhant pass,
i worked and lived in the area for a few years and got to know of a few tracks , but you know.... these days ya cant go here or ya not allowed to go there e.c.t. thats why i gotta road going registered dirt bike as well so ya can scoot along the bitumen if ya have to
but ya cant ride em both at once... wouldnt it be orsm if the manufactures brought out a road legal 4 wheeler and of course ... the powers to be approved them in aus. |

Sounds like you guys have it pretty good down there. You are right Tonyb,
it would be easier if the powers here did what goes in europe. Lights, blinkers, rego, action. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Might work with a few mods........
Kick out the windows, take off the doors, cut off the roof.....
stuff like that!
Hang on! I saw that in central australia.........
DRiver said something like;
"gotta smoke an a 20 till ah get me check"
I think he meant that it doesn't need rego 'cause its not roadworthy.
Back where we started with that idea. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.
