Good afternoon Dazz
Thank you for your email of 10 January 2010 relating to the motocross trails in the vicinity of the Gold Coast's Hinze dam.
The land in question is now under State Government control, following its purchase by that entity for the South East Queensland Water Grid. Information about the trails around the dam can be accessed online at www.hinzedamstage3.com , or by phoning 1800 993 413. Alternatively, your local State MP should be able to provide you with the information you're seeking.
Regards
RON CLARKE MBE

| but dazz, you have to keep in mind the level of dementia that poor old Ron is suffering from(all politicans get that the moment they are voted in),he is referring to HORSE trails!!! not motocross trails!! it's all the same thing to him.So, sorry dazz,i think that means NO trails for you!! or any of us.Since you get on so well with him  (chuckle, snicker!) maybe you could email him and ask him to clarify the situation. I'm not having a go at you dazz, you know what pollies are like!! gazman |

Sorry Dazz,
I'm with gazman and gothev8. It's like it's not on now, and don't hold your breath. Maybe they've got you mixed up with boaties and Tipplers resort. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Heres the one the wife recieved from the state government in reponse to the filling out a petition about trail riding on the state Goverment website.

Re: New major trail bike facility for south east queensland
Thank you for raising your concerns regarding trail bike facilities in Queensland.
Off-road trail bike is an increasingly popular pursuit for queenslanders and i recognise the need to provide an appropriate, safe space for people to pursue the sport that they love.
I am pleased to inform you that we have now set aside 745 hectares of Goverment land at Wyaralong, near Beaudesert for SEQ's first dedicated trail bike facility.
This is a multi million dollar investment by the Queensland Government. It will involve setting aside up to $3 miliion and a further $1 million to help develop the land into a dedicated off road trail bike facility. Establishing this facility will give trail bike riders a legal and safe riding environment that won't disturb local neighbours.
Planning for stage 1 of the park is expected to be completed mid next year and is likely to involve basic camping facilities, about 30km of trail, signage, a natural terrain motocross course, a parking area and toilets.
Stage 2 of the park will provide even better camping facilities (with power & showers), a motorcross track (including race tower, spectator area, starting gates), additional trails and signage, & a kiosk/cafe.
The site at Wyaralong was chosen becuase the terrian is well suited for trail bike riding and the natural landscape of the area means that noise and dust will be largely contained in the park area.
This location is easily accessed by trail bike riders from all over the south east, especially those from Ipswich, the gold coast, Brisbane & Toowoomba.
I would also like to acknowledge our patners in this project, the councils of Mayors (SEQ) for thier support which has helped make this happen.
Yours Sincerely
Anna Bligh MP
Premier of queensland
