What Pennzoil oil are you talking about?
Motor oil and gearbox oil are two completely different oils.
This is what I use as a gear oil in the wife's TRX250EX.

The TRX250EX manual states to use a HYPOID GEAR OIL SAE 80.
For the minimal cost of gear oil I would use an oil manufactured for this specific purpose. I don't think Pennzoil make one.
