HAHA. The sad part is your probably right. Owell. Honda is the 1st to go an all 4-stroke line up for 08. Apparently the CRF150R kicks ass. Also I have been told (probably by someoneon here) that Doug Gust ran or still runs an FCR carb on his LTR because they were having problems with the EFI. _________________ Mic

the kfx 450 isnt the first atv with efi ya know the raptor 700 has it and the ltr
oh by the way ltr is the leader in production but on other hand nats and qld they didnt win either of em
i will agree to a certain amount as the zook is better bang for buck
but kawa hasnt released prices or width and height yet which could also lead to it not being as good a bargain as some may think at the moment
i notice in the in the specs it isnt gunna be the elite mx machine like the ltr thats for sure
tire size specs gave that away
Front tire: AT21x7-10
Rear tire: AT20x10-9
and the reverse gear on a mx quad ........ hmmmm
and i dont think it will be as set up or as wide to suit mx like the ltr and i dont think it will out do the honda or yammy just yet
i was looking to have one myself but have changed my mine for someone on a budget so far the zook is best chance at being competitive without spending huge dollars _________________ black covered in 5.7 powered oversize quad

Straight out of the box the LTR is great. But depending on how long you keep your quads before upgrading you will eventually flog out the ball joints and need new a-arms, some peple are saying the standard shocks are not that great. So in the long run (VERY long) you may not be that much better off. _________________ Mic

mic all quads flog ball joints out
also found more info on the kfx relating to sizes and clearances
bad news is kfx same width as a yfz
kfx 1 inch shorter then the yfz
kfx overall height 1 inch lower then the yfz
kfx seat height 1 inch lower then yfz
kfx wheelbase 1 inch less then the yfz
ground clearance bout same
and the biggest down fall yellowman is the weight doh 364 pounds with a aluminium frame compares to 350 lps to a yfz
so the kfx isnt that good a deal after all

ok we all know that weight and stuff means not much as the zook is 368lb
remembering that 6 pack of beer you drank on the weekend is around 4lb, ha
i just can't wait to get my leg around one, i think we will all be supriesed, and i think we might see some good riders in oz start to convert to some other colours, maybe gas gas and ktm will change there colours to pink and then i can buy one for my girlfriend, and use it as my practice bike.
i wish _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |

Im talking about when people say that the LTR's are great becaus they dont need aftermarket suspension/a-arms for MX like TRX's and YFZ's do. Eventually you will need new a-arms and why go back to stock. _________________ Mic

Gust dose run the EFI I know that for sure but it is a diffrent map to what is avalible to the public. And the stock front shocks are the second best shock i've ever used I love them. The rear need some work though.
Without seeing with my own eyes i'm a little dissapointed with it on paper and in the photo's.
It looks like to me a green Honda sitting on Yamaha running gear. To tall and to narrow. But i'm sure it could be built into a awsome race quad but just like the Yam and the Honda you will have to shell out the $$$$ though _________________ Smitty |

I Hope they bring it out with at least the option to have it wide from the factory.
Age old problem still with us in Quad land... spend +12K for new quad then add +4K just to have a competitive mount to race on. Bites it big time.
I currently ride Blue but Suzuki is the only brand that has even bothered to look after the racers. _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly!
