hi everyone, just a thought, ive built a couple of banshee engines latley, and im not sure how much a moto mechanic would charge you but i thought i might be able to do it cheaper, im an automotive mechanic by trade, but i love working on banshee engines!! just a hobby. anyways prices would be:
port and polish = $480.00 (will be done on flow bench, very professional, very big results!! guranteed, BIG difference.)

rebore/hone = $170.00

piston kit = $300.00 ( cast pistons, top end bearings and cometic gasket set, can get forged piston kit cheaper BUT i recommend cast)

labour = $200.00 ( ENGINE OUT OF FRAME; remove cylinder head, remove barrels, remove pistons. barrels and cylinder head will be acid dipped. respray if wanted. all guranteed work -if not racing-. ENGINE IN BIKE WILL BE EXTRA $50.00.)

All up your basic FULL top end rebuild will be between $650-$700.

BIKE/ENGINE WILL BE NEEDED FOR 1 WEEK, PICK UP/DROP OFF ON MONDAY, RIDING ON FRIDAY!

If you need anymore info please pm me.

please dont burn me lol, i just thought i can save you a few dollars and have some fun!!

can i ask why you recommend cast pistons?

and also do you do the honing/boring yourself or get a machine shop to do it for you?

also what type of porting do you offer, is it good for a certain type of riding?

good luck with it

not trying to be rude or anythin but most people that have banshee's(or any 2 stroke's) can rebuild the engines themselvs

maybe if you did 4 stoke motors you would prob get into some cash Very Happy

i know of a fair few people that cant rebuild their engines themselves. i know if i done four strokes i would make more money, but i like 2 strokes and im doing it more because i love those engines!!!

a mate of mine (darren) from voodoo engines does the porting, he is in wallsend. the porting he does is amazing!! it seems to work all round, i have got loads of down low power and crazy amounts in top and mid range. it works on the dunes/drags at stockton and awesome for racing!

the cast pistons seem to make the bike ALOT quicker, and they are more reliable. ive had wiseco forged pistons (prolite) in my bike and they lasted around 20hrs, before they blew holes in them!!

thanks fellas, jaquesy.

Somethings very wrong if your blowing holes in piston, cast or forged

I reckon go for it mate nothing wrong with havin a go.Sure alot of people can build there own engines but on the other hand alot cant or dont have the time.
I also agree with you on reccomending cast pistons the reason they "seem to make the bike alot quicker"is because a cast piston is much lighter than forged there for should rev quicker both have good and bad points.ive ran alot of both always seem to get a crack under the gudgeon pin on the forged ones(mostly wiseco) best pistons in my opinion are wossner (spelling)
blowing holes well yeh your own your own there mate seems like a lean issue to me,to hot a plug or something along the lines of that

But yeh i reckon go for it.you never know where youll end up with it why not ay. just my 2 cents
