lol section 19 on the supp regs says that racing will be in a clockwise direction, its wrong though, it said the same thing last year.

rest assured racing will be in anti-clockwise direction!

GO FAST AND GO LEFT!

this is what tony swifte (clerk of the course) has told me:

standard class allows pipe and filter only.

modified class anything else...

i havent bothered about the event cause of the limit of 850cc 4 stroke and 500cc 2 stroke and 2 cylinder max.
if they will give me in writing that i can run my bike i will come next year.
but its a bloody long way from adelaide to mackay to be told NO WAY!

just a reminder this event is going to be more strict with machinery this year. so make sure numbers are very visible for lap scorers. and you have a back number.

well thats what its meant the last couple of years, if they go and change it all of a sudden there will be alot of p!ssed of punters who have travelled all the way there for a ride.

i think they can afford to be a bit lenient, its just meant to be a fun day at the beach, its not like we're racing for sheep stations!

yeah it is a fair whack but it also brings it up to the same as a good stock 450/700.

i know of a few young guys who are going that have never raced before. their banshees have pipes and a filter (naturally), but they dont wanna race against the guns in the modified class with 500cc banshees and bored and stroked raptors!!

they just wanna ride for a bit of fun so i hope they dont turn them away this year.

anyways im sure it will all work out, lookin forward to it, should be a cracker!

well the beach races have been run and won, awesome day had by all!

quad entries were down this year but was still a top day.

len quagliata won the modified quad class on his trex banshee, with joe gauci 2nd place and kris codega 3rd.

keep an eye out for an article with some top photos and full race report in the next atv action.
