Or ATV lover, anyway im Sam, I have been into quads since I cant remember, started out on a little 50 suzuki and had that for years, then my dad sold it and me and my best mate/neighbour used a trx90 which to us at the time was a rocket, semi auto 4sp and then we used a 4wd honda big red I think it was, pretty much every weekend, all weekend we were on quads. I have been out of quads for a few years now due to the fact that I cant afford one!

I recently went for a trip to NZ and used a suzuki 450 and the semi auto 250, and my god the 450 was just insane, so much fun, so much power so since then I have been looking at what to get, I get dirt wheels and atv action all the time, for the record, im not into jumps or comps or racing, just recreational trails and that kind of stuff, now I have used the 450 I wouldent go smaller, so whats the right one to get? I look forward to offering my advice and doing what I can to help out on here.

Cheers, Sam.

Welcome aboard.

If your into rec riding have a look at the 525 Outlaw. I don't have one, but a mate does and there awesome on the trails. Particularly the nasty, rutted, rocky, muddy stuff.

If you've got the money, get new.

I myself usually buy used. If your not in a hurry and don't mind spending time looking around your bound to find a decent used quad. My current ride is a '07 YFZ450SE which I bought late last year. Since it was sitting on the dealers floor for over a year they heavily discounted it. Heaps of good second hand quads listed on here frequently.

Yeah, i loved the trx90 when i was little, and we thrashed that thing for years every weekend and it never died. Im pretty sold on suzuki tho, my first ever was their 50 and i used the quadsport 250 and the quadracer 450 which was just insane, and I asked the guy why he used them and he said he had used yammy, honda, polaris etc etc and the suzukis were the most reliable and bulletproof, who knows! But I will take it in for sure!

Cheers, Sam.

Hey guys, been doing the rounds, and have been to three dealerships so far, the springwood one seems like the go, the bloke also reckons the ltz-400 is the go, which sounds right, I found out it is the one i used in NZ, and it has more than enough balls for me, better for trails aparently, he recomends putting a better axel in it, so I'll get him to fit up the nerfs, axle and dead man switch for me. Anyway, sound good fellas?

Cheers, Sam.

hello again, quite a well quiet forum isnt it? Well compared to the ones I have come from, anyway, went up to yamaha and ktm today, got some brochures and spoke to the guys up there, im quite liking yamaha, anyway just after feedback on what to get.

Usage:
-Trails
-NO Racing
-NO Massive Jumps (only what you would get on a trail)

Requirements (Preferd):
-Light
-Reverse
-400cc or bigger (this is a must)

Thanks guys, im pretty sold on the ltz-400, but if anyone thinks something else will be better, let me know!

Cheers, Sam.

i would go for the Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS
they are great bikes, with a HEAP of power, they also look awesome Very Happy

the IRS is great for Rec riding and if you decide that you wanna race later on, they are great for enduros.

probly ask luke beechey about the bike, he won finke this year on one. He'll giv more info then me, so all the best with finding a bike!! Very Happy Very Happy
