Awesome trail/enduro machine but not the choice for serious mx. Plenty of torque to get you in and out of trouble, and a huge range of bolt ons available if you are looking for extra power. They are extremely comfortable to ride also. I wouldn't ride anything else now. Check out the US raptor forum www.raptorforum.com, although biased there is some good info here.

Never had one but they are also good value at the moment
Cully's Yamaha in W.A had them advertised for $11990 in the Sunday Times

Cullys are good my wife says i live there Surprised i just come home for the food Very Happy
Matt is a good guy he knows about off road bikes coz he races off road bikes Cool .
i got my 700 raptor from there to. i loved my raptor it was a great bike it never missed a beat and you can get heaps of bling and hop ups for it to.. this mite upset a few people but if you can try to use as much gytr gear for it as you can. too get those bikes to move well for rec riding getting the following parts would be worth getting Surprised

1x gytr air filter adapter
2x gytr air filters (one on the bike while the other one is at home been washed etc)
1x gytr prefilter
1x gytr muffler ( dont worry about the header pipe leave the std one on)
1x dyno jet 3 computer ( get the bike shop to do the map and run it with the lid off)
1x set of gytr nerf bars
1x kill switch (this should be std on quads)
1x 15 tooth front sprocket
ask the bike shop to change all the tyers to maxis razor2 tyers ( they should trade the new ones in)
also i always used yamlube oil to and i did 78 hours and it still had massive compresstion and no engine rattle at all.
If you got the extra money to spend go +2 A arms and rear axel
If you get all this stuff when you get the bike you will save a massive amount on the overall price

I would still have my raptor but i decided to start racing so i traded it in on a 450..

when you get the bike there is a club you can join its a quad only track
www.atvwa.com have a look there its a good social track to ride at.

Well we here are KTM people, wouldn't buy anything else if you're a serious racer. Cool Cool

However, if you're looking for a bike to have fun on the beach or bush, then I would suggest either the Raptor 700 or the Suzuki 400 as they are the largest selling sports quad in America and probably the same here. have to have something going for them. laughing

I would have to agree, the 700 raptor is a awsome quad for trail and enduro, but is still a heavy quad and in my opinion not the most comfortable quad in the air, MX or sand.

We have recently bought a Kawi KFX400 for Jacqui, which is basically a Suzi LTZ but in envy green, and I prefer to ride the Kawi over a freinds Raptor 700.

Sure, the Raptor has oodles of power but I do not find it comfortable, the controls don't feel comfortable, and they are tall & narrow.

Just my opinion!

i have ridden a mates kfx 400 and found it heaps of fun, but being close to 6ft 5in found it a lil cramped on some longer rides, you are right though it is a great quad and heaps of useable power, it was my second choice for first quad

6 foot 5 eh!

OK, have you talked to anyone about something a little older, like a Bombardier DS650?

Big, meaty, grunt plus more grunt

Eats sand dunes and desert riding for breakfast.
