funny how all these results dont include a quad that has only recently been released and hasn't had much development work done on it yet. you obviously only have one ear as well as one eye Lenny as you dont seem to hear anyone elses reason.

Pro race results have no bearing on this topic when comparing the brands stock to stock and on that regard the Suzi wins hands down.

Who rides Stock Quads ?(apart from the few people who ride production class? Hey buy a Zook if you ride this class,no arguments here!

In Australia,we are behind in many things compared to USA and US happen to be the most developed quad country in the world, thats why I get the stats from there !

Smitty against Mats , hello Rider?

WA why would a top guy like Chris ride a less developed bike when he won the Nationals on a Honda ? any Zooks running in WA against Chris ?probably not many until they are deveolped to be competative enough,How many Hondas in VIC against the top guys ?

How does Smitty go against Adam, good I would think?Whats that got to do with our little debate?

Hi Pete,
Sorry Im still not converted! But Ill let Honda Australia know that you are ! Laughing

Recently Released and very little development work done :That is exactly my point ,why purchase an undeveloped quad if you want to win races in anything but stock production? No argument here !
Listen to Reason:I am listening loud and clear,my view is just different to yours, get over it!

Pro Race results have no Bearing on this topic when comparing stock to stock?Im not comparing stock to stock and since 99% of quads are modified ,why worry about stock? If I wanted to ride stock I would Get a Big Bear and hang a fertilzer thrower off the back Laughing

You might be sick of my talk about Hondas ,but no more sick than I am about a Quad that has been out for five minutes and tryting to get Quad God status!
I Buy things based on results ,not opinions,Talk is cheap.Ill stick with what I know is good and not perception.
Cheers and lots of Lovin always

you dumbass len

smitty has a hardly moded suzi at all and adam and matt are racing modified honda and yamaha

and as for your who rides stock quads not all of us a rich mate and for entry class riders the suzuki would be a better choice then a honda or yamaha

remember all things are marketed for in a away to get more attention and boost sale for their item over other brands

my biggest opinion for ya len

if i was gunna put my wife or a mate on a newer quad do i tell them to pay $13000 for a yfz ? no

tell em to go honda for the advantage if they spend big buck they will have a quad that can go like the pros in usa??

i get a same priced suzuki that is wider for a more stabilier ride , has a lower centre of gravity for same thing and also has the power to go out and race and be competitive if they choose to do that

WITHOUT SPENDING A SHITLOAD

and smitty , adam , and pete i would rather listen to then you len sorry but these guys are more then willing to help ppl even if ya not a huge budget racer or rider

you advice is always a huge costing exercise ....example if you want this BUY this or GET that

hmmm looks like another forum for me to avoid ..........................

who cares what you ride and how much you spend, sort it out on the track, easy as that. If someones prepared to spend 11K or 30K good on them, go for it and have good time doing it, and as I tell my kids when the're not winning!!! if its not fun, find another fun thing to do, So go trailriding... Very Happy

Well I wont resort to name calling as I am enjoying this debate .I understand people have different needs and budgets ,I am only talking about racing on the most competative quad possible !
Why does it keep coming back to a stock quad !
Im sorry but I dont ride stock quads because I enjoy doing up quads as much as racing them.If you wana ride a stock quad and buy a Zook ...great. and sincerly all the best to ya ! My point is that just because it is a well speced stock machine ,doesnt mean that it is the best Modified machine for Racing !

well honda has had 2 years to have enough brains to work out good after market parts havent they hahaha funny then how a stockie zook is running 2nd in the vic series isnt it Len

give the lt same years to make parts and develop them and see if ya opinion is the same?

oh wait you used to have a yamaha then you went honda so if zooks prove they are better you will change to them???

correct me if i am wrong oh please master len

and be honest will you change to the best performing quad in the states ? or will you stick to honda?

oz 450
Of coarse Honda has had two years longer at it ,thats my whole point and the main reason I choose Honda right now it is the best engine and has proven High HP 60 plus and reliability with a standard crank and Rod (If built right).
If you could get 60 HP out of the Zook would it hold up in the bottom end ?
At 52 HP the Yamaha has bottom end issues and is limited to its head design to extract more than 58HP .At this point you have replaced the Crank and Rod to survive the Added HP at a fairly big cost.

Honda =Proven Big reliable HP with OEM Head and bottom end
Zook= Unknown maybe ok and may not?
Yamaha=Less HP and Bottom end needs to be strenghtend at a big cost

Smitty on a Stock Suzuki ,I thought it has aCherry Bomb,Yoshi System and looking for better suspension,(Please correct me if im wrong as I am often!)? He is in second because of his riding ability and I believe he would be faster again on a 60 HP Honda and aftermarket suspension!
I used to Have a Yamaha because they were the only 450 out and Honda 450 wasnt out yet .
Change into a Zook ? what for ? It wouldnt perform as good as the Honda I have now.
I dont just believe what I read from Dirtwheels or first ride impressions or guys that have been involved with Quads for past few years.
I am regularly talking to reputable engine builders ,riders and Quad builders in the states that know whats going on from there years of experience with all Brands and proven race results ,Im no genius ,but I believe they are!
Are they full of it ?I dont believe so.
Because this is what I believe in doesnt mean you need to get bent and twisted about it and start getting personal, thats just what I believe, lets stick to the debate and put the emotions aside for now Hey?

Hey DC
Im not having a go at your choice of purchase as any choices you make is right to who ever makes them ! You bought on your beliefs needs and reasons and thats all that matters! As I did.
Sorry if I have come across wrongly, just my opinion
I hope you enjoy your Quad and the sport

Thanks to Ric Andrews Motorcycles,Honda Australia.Hardiman ATV,Suspensions R Us and sometimes JMC

no offence meant len but im sure the bold underlined part on your signiture says it all
if any company was supplying me a bike i would give them a good wrap in the one eyed fashion you continue to
but if i was to purchase a new bike right now i would be on the new suzuki
and that is my honest opinion and i ride a yamaha now and have never owned a suzuki but have ridden one often and i am impressed with them
when looking to buy a new bike smitty is right in a way but i would look a little lower in the grades to the guys that have to pay for their own rides
usually this is where you will find the best bikes to buy because basically
these people buy the bike with the best value for money
yes chris brenton is fast on his honda but i believe he was just as fast the year before on his yami
once bikes get to the stage where you sink in enough dollars they kind of even out ,you could buy a chinese quad and spend 40k on it and it will be competative

Len yes I am going to go to town on one of my LT-R's with A-arms shocks fuel injection systems higher compression and so on. My main aim is to build a full on race bike.
But I bet my lap times on my stock bike will not be far off the race bike times and will not justify the money i spend. It will be an interesting project

why can't you keep it On the Topic Lenny, I don't believe that this thread was ever about comparing quads or advsing people what they should buy based on opinions or race results. I thik I suggested this on DBW but maybe someone should start a Honda V Yamaha V Suzuki tread for all this opinionated propaganda to go in and leave the rest of the topics to be disscussed without turning into a mines bigger than yours situation.

Yeh understand Smitty and I feel if you work hard and get as fit as you can to handle the Harder hitting power (Be good to work towards Torq!)you will improve your times! As you know 1 second can be the difference between 1st and 5th .Good luck with it and if you need a hand with anything ,let me know (I know a guy in the states who has a Zook and is getting the first camshafts that I know of ,developed ,he also built a super fast Honda).
