At the moment its just a name, what would be the role of a national quad association? to replace MA or just another committee within MA? _________________ www.waquadmx.com |

Page 14 15 of the Hand Book ... Just trying figure where a bunch like us would fit in . I have never meet Kevin Macdonald but Derek rocks up to the Qld Titles (nice bloke)
Can someone explain the channels that a general Q would be answered at MA.
Does the commision on page 15 have the final say???
Australian Quads Riders Association would????
Lobby for rec regos
Push to get Juniors racing in NSW
Push for Training of our Juniors
Open up ride areas for quads
Help state clubs get land for track days
Coordinate National MX Enduro Motard series
Is this the type of roles this group would do??????
I don't know ..... Anyone else with Ideas _________________ Truth and Honor and Trust ... never under estimate Them. |

Haven't you met Luke yet John, his handicap is pretty obvious.
Last time he and I played golf we downed 6 cans of beam, played 3 holes, got boored and went home. Now that's how you play golf!

Good point, would it be a racing thing, a trail riding thing ? I think the racing covered by MA, I could be wrong. And I cant play golf, mind you I still cant ride a quad properly yet but that doesnt stop me either. _________________ 2005 KFX700

Why should the MA be involved with Our sport....
there not involved with 4x4s or buggies ....
so why should they be involved with quads
somthing says we might be better off to distance from them and at the same time keep them on our side
a national quad associaton should be its own identity with its own set of rules and demands ... not a second thought poor cuz to motorbike club
i dont care if its got a bloody motobike motor its a quad not a bike...... |

The MA provide insurance for quad events, .i.e racing and club trail rides, which means they pay you $$$ for lost income But why do you need the MA's input if a bunch of reps around aus get together and work out a plan to get quads reconised for rego etc , or what exactly do quad riders want from a assocation ??? work out these questions and your on the way to getting a rough plan. Good luck. _________________ 2005 KFX700

For all of us that are racing Motocross as another class of bike included in Motocross events at clubs across Australia and are very happy, dont go stuffing things up for us !
I know alot are aware, but for those that arnt.
MA and all its state offices administer the rule changes as set by clubs, through their riders & volunteers, then through council of clubs with club delegates.... followed through to the Board representing each state(again volunteers) information goes through many hands, junior commissions, motocross and discipline specific commissions, safety commissions all before it goes to the paid employee at MA to update the GCR's(he didnt make those changes by himself )
All the proposed rule changes for the following years books, are required to MA by MAY each year, for them to be distributed to all the above panels and committees and clubs to comment on, and submit back to the Board of MA for final assessment(again all volunteers)
So when you say "What does MA do for you?" they administer the changes, licensing of riders, clubs and tracks, in the hopes that all volunteers from a flaggy through to a club president, to a state MA president all run the sport with due diligence and duty of care to keep its riders under the MA Banner as safe as possible in doing the sport we all love.
The question is- what does MA do for Quads...... it starts with YOU, what do you want, if you want to ride at a track, MA wont make that happen, you have to, the club you want to attend is run by volunteers and the more you put in, the more you will get out of the sport.
I'm sure for anyone who hasnt even been to a club meeting, let alone a council meeting, or board meeting, or sat and discussed all rule changes proposed by all states for updates, this will all sound like a lot of jibberish, unfortunately in any sport, their is the same format to the top.
Their are clubs and riders who run under the MA Banner, and clubs who dont. IMO if you arnt happy to run under the MA banner with its rules, then join a club which isnt. _________________ www.waquadmx.com |

So how do you classify a UTV & where does that fit in the scheme of things, it's not a quad, not a bike & not a 4X4. _________________ The term "Foolproof" seriously underestimates the ingenuity of Fools.

Good point Mrs G but Dazza's original idea needed a bit more info so 1, we could get a better idea on what he's trying start up and 2 racers and trailers, never the two shall meet. _________________ 2005 KFX700

sorry for Pixxxxx on your parade mrs racer but the ma dosent do a dam thing for me, my wife or my kids ... u like to race ... we like to ride ...you like to run arround in circles ... we like to explore ... i bet your "bike" dont even have reverse my "Quad" on the other hand Does......
i think we still need to distance our self from the MA ....
When you stand outa that Loop at look at the sceme of things 4x4s are going everywhere and anywhere theres a dirt road and they dont answer to the MA or you, So like i said we should keep them close but not too close we need to be seen as a new moto sport identity....
you will never hear a jet ski rider say ... hey i cant ride in the ocean or a surfer say damm i forgot my rego payment ... but you will hear 1000 quad riders say hey we cant ride in the forest .. so whats the MA DONE for those guys..... Nothing...its prob cause they think we will be happy with a 1/2 dozen MC club tracks in remote ass places
how things look differant on my side of the fence any way good luck riding in circles girl ...thank god for events condo ect... where u can brake outa that groove hey.. |

Dazza, settle Gretel. WE know how frustrating it is when the bit of land we want ride on is ours already, but they discriminate against our mode of vechile. Down here in Mexico we have tried till the cows come home, and the QRCV busted their selves trying to get rec rego, and still Vic roads refused to listen. So you want a national rego scheme for quads. your state runs the cape your rides and the like, so speak to those organisers and find out what hoops they had to jump through, and then see if that scheme cant be extended for the whole year, and renewable after that. BUt back to your original question about an national asoction, get your self some ideas passing around from some guys in each state on the email, NOT here, where the likes of me will hijack it So ask for some rec riders here to email your good self and get some ideas flowing. and then come up with a kind of mission statement so all those looking in can see where your coming from and where you want to head, if this sounds to heavy, and to hard, well thats the sort of thing I want to see before I put my name to anything like this, personally I'm not a club type person (if that makes sense )
And finally lay off Mrs G, I dont know her personally but what she subcribes to in regards her way of doing this (MA) works for her and those like her because it has worked for a long time and they got it right.
