80 thou is considered safe but you can go 100thou over
standard is 64mm
80 thou is 66mm
100 is 66.5mm _________________ Queensland Quad Riders Association

don't bore it out for the cc's. it's not worth ruining a set of barrels for it. port them, then have all that extra life in them without having the cost of a new set of barrels every 3rd rebuild.
at 100 thou over = 375.1cc
at 80 thou over = 369.5cc
at 60 thou over = 363.9cc
at 40 thou over = 358.4cc
at 20 thou over = 352.9 cc
stock displacement = 347.4cc _________________ 01 Banshee

mate your barking up all the wrong trees trying to get more power out of your banshee...
tell us what you mods you have at the moment and what type of riding you do, and we'll go from there! _________________ 2002 SE Banshee |

nuthin really, just bigger jets and carbon fibre reeds.
im having the porting and boring done on the w/e. $300
aslo, is there any type of specs or or somthing for the porting? any tricks? im not to good with the machining side of things so i dont have a clue lol. the machinist said that some people are really particular in what they want done to the ports. _________________ 2000 YAMAHA BANSHEE. |

| IMO the machinist/porter should ask what you want and be able to supply the power spread you want. I'd be wary of a porting person who wants you to supply the specs. |

spend the $300 on a wiseco 10 or 20 thou over top end kit and buy some pipes. poor motor cant do anything with those stockers even if it is ported

yea, umm, the porter should know. you gunna have a hard time finding some porting specs cause no engine builder wants to give away the secrets to why their porting makes power. _________________ 01 Banshee

depending on what sort of port job he does, you may not be able to use those cyls in the future with a 4mm stroker crank.
food for thought. _________________ 2002 SE Banshee |

yeah, even come crank rebuild time theres a bit of a decision to make.
eg a stock crank and a 4mm crank are almost the same price, so your first thought is "might as well stroke it"
but to do it properly, you need to port it to suit, new pistons, and a cool head with stroker domes if you havent already got one. _________________ 2002 SE Banshee |
