I was at stockton on sunday 19-7-09 and was told by a np ranger there will be a blitz on the coming weekends on those people without rego and not producing ID. The alarming part was they plan to confiscate your quad. I was told the police will be on quads, bikes, and 4x4 utes with a big truck to take away the confiscated quads.
To confirm this a friend and member of the forum was registering his quad on saturday and was told by the lady at the rta that your quad can be confiscated if you have no rego.

So beware.

It's about time they done something like this, gives those of us that pay the rego a fair go. Anybody with rego up there riding when this goes down will have nothing to be worried about. Now when it happens lets see how many post come up in regards as to who tried to run down who because they were trying to stop someone with no rego. Those that do get caught & presumably have their ride confiscated "suck it up princess" rego & a permit is a much cheaper option than purchasing another ride.

Well if it is anything like here in Vic , driving or riding an unregistered vehicle is a fine and also 3 demerit points , so to me reg is worth it.

Think yourselves lucky that you can get rego , as in some states you cant . an old saying is , if you want to dance , you have to pay for the music.

Another point is that , I may be wrong but with your reg do you get tac cover , so if you come off you have cover for a lot of your medicals , so think of it that way.

most of the money we have to pay is for the green slip witch we dont get its just a number on rta computers, now if you have a crash & you are at fault you get a big fat nothing, i crashed coming over a sand hill & cost me over 5k to fix my shoulder & i got zero from the insurence company but if you hit some body or they hit you & you have there number plate then no problem as there insurence will fix you & your insurence fix them, but only you or them will be fixed not your BIKE, i dont agree with this but if stockon beach was'nt classed the same as the road outside parliment or the main road of anywere things would be different, its sand not tar, it should be classed as a off road area, you dont see many buses or taxi's up there.

You get a green slip with it(this covers personal injuries in the event of an accident). I think it is fair the price that you pay for piece of mind. If you dont want to pay dont ruin it for me, DONT RIDE! and if you do i hope you get caught.......

The gren slip is only for injurys you cause to other people if you crash & hurt yourself you are on your own cause its not personel insurence its a compulsery green slip just like ya car, insurence for every1 else you could hurt.

There is a loop hole and a good solicitor will get any insurace company out of paying major injury claims ,It is a legal binding contract when you tick those boxs at the rta,If your bike is involved in a major accident it will have to comply with the contract you signed with the rta.

and good luck with the kurri track thing,, that IS a step in the right direction.!

hey all,

i am interested in how all the registered people actually obtained rego? i have seen the rego papers and my 450r could not comply due to no mirrors horns blinkers and all the other nonsense required to be usable on a non public road area! so as you said ash, those tick boxes you all sign to actually get the number plate which most of you do not comply with are on a legal document (i have yet to see on the dunes a 450 or the likes decked out with all the mirrors blinkers horn etc yet) . . . so isnt signing a legal document that your bike has all of those components knowing that you dont have them a type of fraud? or just as guilty as no rego? ? if you do have a bad accident and the bike becomes evidence and the stuff you signed for is not present how does that stand up in a legal case? ummmm. just a thought.
