$hit! Is that race on the same time? I don't know, maybe we should do the Safari instead. What do reckon mate? Should we stick to the MotoX?
What day does the Safari finish. Is it finishing in Perth again or where? If I'm around, I'll drop in and see you, maybe I can get a can of that Whoop A$$ off you. I've never had any of that stuff. _________________ "WHEN THE STAKES ARE HIGH, GET SERIOUS, GET KTM" |

What an experience. Got my survivor peg after 7h10min. The pounding I got from the whoops still hurts ........ blisters are healing nicely.
Most of the time wasn't sure if it was fun or pain....
The spectators were phenomenal, the cameras made you try harder.
The support from locals and other competitors was incredible.
My right nerf broke off about 50 km before Alice, the rest of the bike held up
At the end of the road section on the way back failed to slow down and went flying over bushes, luckily missed the trees and did not get separated from the quad ,and continued on.
Thanks to Rob and Mick for suspension set up advice.
My LTR's standard suspension proved very forgiving, one would almost say... understanding... .
Recommend this race to everyone.
It has this special atmosphere. |

Nah stick to MotoX mate the races are a bit shorter you might be able to finish them ha ha ha.
Safari starts in Perth on the 1st of Aug and finishes in Kal on about the 7th. It's be cool to catch up _________________ Smitty |

I always forget how much I love this race until I go back again the next year to refresh my memory, favourite week of the year. Even though the result tugged at the heartstrings the combination of racing and partying always makes for a memorable time.
Even the trip home was a highlight, thanks Smitty. I've heard all about your cans of whoopa#se among other things, some of those conversation topics were just plain wierd, it's a long way!
Huge thanks to Husky, Viv and the guys from TQA for doing the fuel stops and helping me get things up and running again on the trip home. I need to get in touch with Eddie from Darwin who's oil I stole enabling me to finish so I can repay him. I've now finished three Finke's in a row but only just.
Congratulations to LukeB and the guys at Polaris, awesome ride mate and I know it means a lot to the Polaris crew.
Only downside is that we now have to wait a whole year for the next one!! |

Well I finally got around to making a post after the Finke experience
I've waited 10 years to do this race and now I can finally say that I have survived and loved every bit.
It's a bit late but congrats to Beechy, Smithy and Roycroft for their podium finishes.
A big thanks goes out to Shane who lent me his exhaust to get me home and Luke for the clamp. Graham, Vivian and crew who done a great job on the fuel stops. Brad and Scott for the company and last but not least the Burdekin crew, Alf, Joe, Mark and Arthur for the good times over the week.
Loved it so much, will be sure to catch up with all fellow Finkers next year. _________________ Yfz450 |
