Just wanted to congratulate everyone who competed in the gruelling Finke Desert Race on the weekend, especially winner Luke Beechey and my mates Alfio Pappalardo (BIG NUTS) and Ryan Comas (Rio).

Both were Finke virgins, with Alfio finishing 10th (awesome result on a completely stock KTM505) and Ryan finishing 18th after a gnarly stack on day 2 that saw his YFZ end up in a tree!

The whole weekend was awesome, and we had a great time having a few beers around the campfire (coals?!) on sunday night, and monday night at the presentation dinner with Luke and all his LBM/polaris crew, awesome bunch of blokes!

Huskygoat and his crew also did a great job all weekend, he and his team working tirelessly to keep everyone fuelled up. Good on ya Graeme.

Last but not least, big shout out to Paul Smith (1SICK6) to be the only competitor man enough to brave the desert this year on a Banshee, finishing a very credible 29th! On ya mate!

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO CONGRATULATE BEN HALL AND STEVEN WAGNER ,BEN CAME 6TH ON HIS LTR450 FOR THE FIRST TIME DOING THE RACE AND NEVER SEEING THE TRACK AND STEVEN CAME 20TH IN THE QUADS WELL DONE BOYS, I CANT FORGET JODIE WAGNER AS WELL WELL DONE, KEEPING THE DREAM ALIVE FOR THE GIRLS. THESE RIDERS ARE PRIVETERS AND COME FROM MILDURA. WELL DONE TO ALL THE OTHER COMPETITORS.

What a week that was, To start with I would like to thank every 1 that helped me out during the race,
Amanda for driving my tank and trailer down to Finke and putting up with my sooking about how sore I was after day 1,
Brenton, Dom and Jumbo for taking me through everything and helping me out with getting the bike to all the different places.

And John for making me swap the rear wheels after day 1 so I could actually get the speed outta the Banshee without shaking me and the bike to bits coz of the slime that was still in the rear tyres. ( I think that made most of the differance in where I made up the 15minutes in time.)

I went to Finke just hoping to finish in the time and I did so im happy as.

During day 1 I hated the race, I couldnt belive I was there doing it, even after day 2 I was telling myself ill never come back, But during the drive home I couldnt stop thinking about next years Finke, so next year ill be back on another Banshee but ill do something with the suspension

And im still waiting for that beer Jumbo, you were just lucky you had your number on that tool bag you left in the middle of the track.

well paul i was a sleep in the corner during presentation you could have rolled me that nite man i was stuffed next time wake me and i will pour the beeeerrrs { leaving tools behind mad me faster but thanks for stopping and picking them up }

Don't forget about the stuff I jammed in your camel back! You still don't know what was in there............

You can see now why I have done 10 Finkes on a quad.

but not too take it away from you john that polaris is fast and 1sick 6 that was his first long distance past the quarter mile man i take my hat off did you tell every one about the baboon ass from sitting ?????
