Those of you that have Can-Am bikes with front lockers, how do you find them?
A friend of mine has a Polaris 800 with a locker and it engages significantly more quickly and is a more positive lock. You notice it most when doing slow crawling stuff in deep ruts or over uneven rocks. The rear tends to corkscrew the bike and lift one of the front wheels right up into the air until the front locker engages and starts driving the front down. Sometimes this can be too late and you have to back off the throttle before the bike falls over, or you've just lost too much momentum to make the climb.
Does anyone know if you can improve the performance of the locker by running a heavier oil or changing the clutch packs or something along these lines? The front locker is my only problem with the bike and if I can fix this it'll be great. Alternatively could this be a fault with my locker? I've spoken to the dealer I bought it from and they seem to think that's just how it is. _________________ Mantis Motorsports

Hi there I own a 2007 800XT outlanders which has the visco lock front end which i think is great. In all my riding experience I have never had a problem with extra wheelspin before it locks even on rocky hills it locks up straight away. I have read that for the 2008 models they did change something to make it lock up even quicker but im not sure what they did.

thanks for that.. I might take the bike back to the dealer in the next couple of weeks and get them to look at it. _________________ Mantis Motorsports

I own 3 bombardiers hence the dislike for this feature ,, but go to the US websites and and see what you can find , i like the abilty to lock and unlock the front diff lock at my discretion hence the reason i like my grizzly , but the bomba also has a better weight carrying capacity . _________________ 2012 Can am Outlander Xt 1000cc
