Its on 1st weekend in July (I think, will find out) , went last year and it was fun . as many laps as you can do in 2hrs (was last year ) we had only 6 quads , would be good to get some more this time . there was 2 from Mt Isa , 3 from Charters towers and one from Townsville .
Any interest ??
Format last year was as follows -
Sat only for quads . 12 km track ( I think) felt longer .
riders briefing followed by a look lap
LeMans start , all bikes lined up , off . on the start we all run to our bikes and go .
2 hrs timed , most laps wins . every lap you go passed the pit , so you can refuel ect as req .
as my first ever quad race it was a eye opener , very tight with mixed surface , lots of trees , creeks , sand , sum rock ,sand , black soil and even mud ( that was just me , got lost on the first lap a bit) |

Its at Richmond Qld , about 6hrs west of Townsville , graet town lots of history . 4th and 5th of July . call Marty or julie 47413412 or Phillip on 47413519 , subs are on www.mqld.org.au .
And yep , its all Finke'uped here . almost ready ,leave on Wednesday morning .

Just spoke with Julie , Quads are welcome , need 3+ to get a start .
only changes from last year are -
1. now 1 1/2 hrs only ( will suit some of the soft MX riders ? Ha ha .)
2. in the arvo on Sat .
3. Track will be changed a bit , still water in some places . ( have asked for more flowing , open stuff if poss )
Now its up to us to get some bikes out there ! |

Hey Brad, haven't been able to call you - I lost my phone fishing the day you called me.
Ill head out to Richmond for a go - I have a mate who will probably be keen to run aswel - so long as he isn't working.
So we should have the numbers no worries.

well i think i would rather ride your enduro than do 20 min on a motocross track you might see some people there from clermont. That ride motocross

Hi Dillon , would be great to get you guys up there , i hope your not ofendend by the soft remark as it was aimed at a mate of mine .
as i know most NQ riders will race all types of events including Finke , and now with Rio and Alf doing well on the weekend i hope we can get some riders to Richmont to show the 2 wheel guys we are worth including . |
