"carbon fiber composite resins " = reinforced plastic
They are not carbon fiber in the sence that we know carbon fibre to be. If they were they wouldn't last that long anyway as carbon fiber shatters.
I do like the wheels but I also think its false advertising.......HiPer give the impression that they are a Carbon Fiber wheel and they just aren't.

| I find the wheels good in the sence that they do not buckle but if you have bead lockers and tension them to much it cracks around where the studs are in the rim and produces leaking |

Hipers are a great wheel but you need to look after them.
No they're not carbon fibre.
I believe the weight saving they advertise is also a crock.
In saying that they are seriously tough, just ask Smitty if he would have finished Finke in 2007 on any other wheel. |

We've been running them on Smittys quads for 5 years (we still have the original set he got then too) and have had a pretty good run with them, the lock rings do break if you over tighten then (as most people do by using rattle guns to do up the lock ring bolts) but they arent that expensive to replace either. because the they are a modular wheel you can replace parts on them as required rather than replacing a whole wheel and I've been able to repair hipers that would have been a throw away job with an alloy wheel.
the other bonus it if you change brands (say from yamaha to suzuki) then you can just get new centres for the wheels instead of having to replace the whole set _________________

yep as usually your right about the fact easy to change got inner rings off of Smitty all worked well but my very first set i took off the tyres replaced them and that when the "profanity removed" started the threaded studs started to pull thru and they never sealed again i try to contact hiper USA about a 6mth ago still no reply as far as iam concernd Douglas or if you want better value OMF BY HUSTLER or any one else that sells them they are strong as look the part and get repaired here in australia I've try other brands of wheels they all bend but the strongest Ive seen are still Douglas/OMF ! _________________ SA quad & motorcylce club member !

Did Finke this year on Hipers.
What I like about them is that changing tyres is very easy, no fighting with levers. |

How do you get the bolts out of the rings when they just spin because the person who owned the bike before you was slack and didnt lube them when fitting tyres, now there stuck? _________________ Has turned to the Dark Side! |
