Hey... I wanted to paint the rest of my frame black so the whole thing was black, I disconected the computer and pulled out the fuel tank and and a few other things, disconected some plugs to get wiring out of the way and when i putt it all back together again It won't start....everything plugeed back together fine and making all the wight noises e.g. fuel pump working moter turning over and dash lights working, The weird thing is that the spark plug only sparks once upon pressing the start button and thats it then there is nothing and the motor just turns over as per normal but there is no spark.
so i don't know if anyone can help that mayebe has pulled there ds450 down for race prep or matanance and had the same prob.
I didn't think what i was doing would result my bike not starting, I just unpluged some plugs and put themback together again.
any help appreciated.Cheers Ryan _________________ Everybody dies....But not everybody lives.

I have not seen this, and think it is not normal if everythng is reconnected properly.
You should take it to a dealer and get them to plug BUDS in (diagnostics).
Best place to start unless someone else has seen it before. _________________ Can-Am X Team

Ok Thanks Bullet i will do that... safest thing to do.
You should be able to pull it down and be able to put it back together no prob but shoulent you Bullet, its not like there is heaps of plugs and they all seem to be differant so can't be mixed up.

I think you are right there Ryan.
As long as you dont disconnect the ECU while itis running or ignition on or silly stuff like that.
Even then I would guess the ECU is fairly internally protected.
Most of the sensors are fine to disconnect while running, and some the bike will even idle without.
When you do this, Buds can lookup the complete history file and tell you which sensor etc recorded a fault.
Leave the ignition off until you go to the dealer because there is a lot more detail in the recent history memory but it is only short term. _________________ Can-Am X Team

Whilst Bullet is absolutly correct I refuse to believe that the quad just broke taking it apart and putting it back together again.
I truely belive there is a bad connection some where. They are not that fragile, they just dont break by them selves. I've been through this myself, everything looked great and was plugged in.......but it wouldn't start.
I found one connector was folded under the battery and I couldn't see it at all........it's always the last thing you look at.

Hey Ryan, is it an 08 or 09? on the 08's you cant disconnect the coils easily as the connectors are soldered on but on the 09's the connectors can be removed from the coils, make sure you haven't got one of them plugged in the wrong way round. Also check you stator wiring connectors, one goes to up near the injector (small one) and the big one goes to near the front of the airbox. the small one is from the pulse trigger and the bike will not make sparks properly with out it. (it can make an initial spark from the ECU though) hope this helps.
Cheers

Pete | Hey Thanks Pete... its 09 and i did't disconect the coil wires but i will check thosse other ones .
I spoke to my dealer and he said if you unplug the comp like i did or some main sensors you have to conect the bike up to budds to reset it all and have budds tell the comp every thing is conected, so ill to take it to him if he is wright about that it will be a siple but frustraghting fix.
I didn't think that they would be that finiky and also i did'nt know you could remove the comp from the fuel tank, I thought it was riverted to it but i was told it screws on. I should have looked closer, If i knew that i defernatly would have left it hooked up.
Cheers pete thanks for your help mate. ill let you know how i go _________________ Everybody dies....But not everybody lives.
