The coroner only investigated 8 deaths ????????
But its been decided that

Helmets are now finally going to become compulsory Rolls eyes

They wont be called ATV's because quads are NOT all terain vechiles

All sellers (they did mention private sellers) HAVE to offer training to the buyers.

I've no doubt there will be more but thats all that mae it on the news.

Took a look at some of the things in this report and I dont see anything I really disagree with.

One thing I like is that nowhere do they say that "quad bikes" are a dangerous vehicle. They only mention that like any farm equipment mis-use can lead to injury.......duhhhh

The main critism is that the name "All Terain Vehicle" is misleading, you are not required to where a helmet, not enough literature outlining the dangers of misuse is available, and that not enought training is made available at purchase.

the whole quad safety issue is under workcover and there fore not a rego issue, so it seems that rec reg will still evade us, till they choose to listen to us.

But atleast when you call VicRoads they can't just say they are dangerous or unstable or whatever the usual uninformed dribble they come out with.
