hey just out of curiosity cause i have 3 kids that all ride
and they have been the china path the whole way from 49cc then 90cc 110cc and finaly 150cc

so how good is that yammy 90 cause my 2 kids are riding there yamoto 150cc like possesed demons and loving them but i like the idea of them having a yammy or somthing simular quality ... there biggest bitch to me is power they dont want to be towed up hills because there quad is not powerfull enough to climb somthing thats a little steeper than a mound on a mx track and my 10 year old girl has a issue with the size of quads as shes quite tall and i realy dont want to hear her bitching at me all day how her knees are smacking out the front guards all day also my 8 year old boy has an issue of how fast they are as he recons hes smoked 90s on the trails on his 150 and i dont want to hear him saying how he cant keep up to us all day hes still too young for a blaster so the 90s might be a good option also what should i do for my 3 year old shes so keen to ride shes allways trying to get on the kids old 110cc china im thinking a 50cc suzi cause the 50cc rappy looks too big for her shes got turn left and right and pull the bike off the wall you just crashed into down pat but i realy want to get her a quad she can actualy use the brakes on cause i thinlk most of the brake levers quads are sold with for kids are absolutly stupid they cant stretch there little hands to use them mabe there a foot option out there

I bought a new Yamaha raptor 90 for the kids for xmas and it has not faulted , a nine year and a five year old both ride the bike and love it, i also love having a play on it and im no feather weight , i bought it for 2900.00 brand new. , it doesnt matter how long it is in the shed it starts first time every time, and im sure that even after a few years use you would not have any problem getting at least 2 grand for it when selling.

I did look at the chinese alternative but soon changed my mind, i looked at it this way , i asked myself would i ride one , are they safe , i answered no to the first one , and have seen some cheaper imports fail, so i answered if i love the kids why would i put them in danger , if anyone is looking to see if kids like to ride a quad , i would say yes to a cheaper quad , just to see if they like it, then maybe upgrade.

Just my few bobs worth

My thoughts exactly. I love my daughter too much to put her on a Chinese piece o' shite. When she's old enough, she'll get to ride my old Honda 70 (you just can't kill quality like that!)

Dazz, a little Suzi 50 would be perfect for your young one. As for the older kids, i wouldn't rule out a Blaster. Physically, its the perfect size; performance-wise you have plenty of scope for developement; and don't forget you can simply wind in the govenor screw to limit the speed while they are learning. You'll foul a few plugs running it restricted, but every now and then you just need to de-govern it and you take it out for a quick blast to burn up the inevitable oil build up. Easy-as.

I went out bought a chinnese one for the young lad, from the get go he wanted a two wheeler, but in Hindsight I talked him into it, but he's not fussed by it sitting there, waiting for me to get motivated to fit a starter on it, and his mates all have two wheelers, and thats all he talks about, So in our case certainly, buying a chinnese piece of crap has paid off instead of buying a brand name. my 2bobs worth.

we went the Chinese rout as well for our youngest we got her a 110 full auto at 10yo she had that for about 3 month then she went to 125 semi auto for a few month now she is at 12yo shes has a 250 rap and she honking on it, 250's biggest learning curve we had was learning the clutch.

we never had a problem with the small 1s and cost us less than 1k all up. our 14 year old killed a 200 though had more trouble than I care to remember, he got so sick of it braking down I bit the bullet and got him a Honda 400 but at 15yo now that’s to slow for him, now wants a full blown 450 racing quad

So the smaller quads are fine for learners and younger kids to start as they pick it up so quick there use by date is quite short and can get expensive but forget about them if there at the banging bars stage there rubbish
