I've put a dent into my oil filter, using a dodgy filter wrench, Mad I know its going to reduce the amount of oil by a little bit, but should I replace it with "another" new one... Rolls eyes

the filter will eventually rupture where it has been creased..the crease creates a stress point that the pulse from the oil pump works back and forward until it becomes a crack

oh and you should never use a filter tool to tighten a filter they should only be tightened by hand....

how big is the dent would be the first question Yogie, like lez said if its creased it could become a crack, if its only a light dent I wouldn't worry about it too much.
