Just tickering in the garage hiding from the kids and the wife and was checking my bars and they are stiff as if they are seized, so i pulled them apart and noticed a whole heap of O rings in there, what is the way to fix these, do they need grease as it needed a bit of force to get the pins out ???
I could just ring Adam tomorrow but i'm impatient !! |

That just about sums it up pretty good there.
If you dont have a brass punch in the right diameter, a 6mm 1/4 drive socket will sit in the hole nicely.
If your at the point where they are binding, you will probably have some alloy paste and galling on the pins. You can clean these up with some very fine wet/dry paper (at least 800 grit or finer) and some WD40 once the o rings are removed. _________________ www.quadsquad.com.au

my pins were also seized in, belted them out with punch, cleaned up the pins and cleaned the bores with a round file so the pins slide in without the need for brute force.
greased all up and is so much better now _________________ 08 Raptor 700SE

I've found that both sides don't usualy start to sieze at the same time.
Have a bounce on the bike in the shed after each time you ride, and if one side feels slightly stiffer that the other.
Pull them straight apart and do both sides.
The job is so much easier if you service them before you let hem sieze up.
And you'll be able to use the excuse "preventative maintenane" more often to get away from the missus _________________ Can-Am X Team
